"Don't purchase anything at this nursery. I purchased 5 plants (Loropetalum) 5 weeks ago and immediately planted all 5. Within 3-4 weeks 2 had died. The remaining 3 were fine. I drove to the Laurel's Oaks Plants & Tree Farm today, 9/12/20 and was told that I must have planted the plants incorrectly. I told the management that I planted all 5 and 3 were doing fine, (had photos) and that all were planted in the same are next to one another. All that I was asking for was a replacement. The cost was $10.00 each. The manager became nasty and I left, drove to Home Depot, and purchased 2 more Loropetalums at $10.99 each that looked much healthier than the one's sold by Laurel's Oaks Plants & Tree Farm. The Home Deport plants have a 6 month warranty. I should add that I have been a long term customer at Laurel's Oaks Plants & Tree Farm and have spent thousands over the years there. No more, they have lost a customer forever (over $20.00 retail cost) and I will be certain to do some advertising for them by telling everyone who will listen not to buy anything there."

"Poor. The contractor who installed my sod worked for Big Earth. He laid down poor quality sod and when I questioned him about it he reassured me that it was fine. About half of my yard is dying, even under the care of a lawn and pest control service. I have talked to Big Earth and they explained they do not guarantee sod, the contractor never mentioned that to me. I am disappointed that their only response to me was “ too bad” their is nothing we can do. You can trust Big Earth for your sod."

"I started receiving services from Hardrock in January 2019. They did a decent job, and it simplified things having fertilizer and mowing all through one company. The weed control wasn’t perfect, but we’ve received worse from other specialty companies. In July, we bought a new house. I informed Rob Brooklyn, the owner, of our plan to sell the house he was taking care of to give him the courtesy of a heads up of our plans so he could be prepared for adjustments to his scheduling. I told him we’d like to keep him on the lawn until the house sold. He hesitated but agreed to continue services. Within a week or two it became clear he had already moved on to a new schedule. He hadn’t touched our lawn for 2 weeks when I called to ask about what was going on. He sent someone out later that day and told me they were considerably behind schedule because of the rain. Anyone who’s lived in FL more than a year or two has seen lawn care folks out in CAT 1 storms doing their thing, so for Rob to tell me they were a full week behind schedule because of rain insults not only MY intelligence but his as well. Eight days passed following that mowing with no sign of his crew once again. I left a very irate message, already having been blatantly lied to once and now being clearly blown off again. It’s fine if he needed to move on to better opportunities, but DON’T cash my checks for a full month worth of services and only deliver half a product! He returned my voice message to tell me to “**** off” and to never call him again. This time he went as far as to claim he was stuck in the hospital with his wife who had just been diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. I have no idea whether that story is true or not. If it is, my heart goes out to him and his family, but given what I’ve seen of how this guy operates over the past couple months, I’m VERY skeptical. There must be hundreds of lawn maintenance companies in Tampa. You can certainly find better than this one."
