"We ran into a residential mold issue due to running our A/C at very cold temps, which created moisture buildup within our ducts and at the supply grilles throughout the home. We did some research, and found that AdvantaClean had a very good reputation for excellent work and professional, courteous service, so we gave them a call. Within the same day, I had scheduled an on-site visit from Roger, their licensed mold inspector, who came to my house the next day, and was able to walk me through the causes of the mold, as well as what AdvantaClean could do to get rid of it. We scheduled the technicians to come out within a few days, and just as promised, they were on-time and ready to go. Roger accompanied them in the morning to show them all the "hot spots" that needed to be treated, and then the technicians, Luis and Juan, went to work. Within a few hours, all of the mold within my residence had been removed or treated, the inside of the ducts cleaned, the coil of our evaporator cleaned, the boots, surrounding ceiling, and each grill, individually cleaned and painted with an antimicrobial. Each step of the way, the technicians explained in detail what they were doing, how the process would prevent future growth, and ways I could improve the house to make sure we never have this issue again. Luis and Juan could not have been more friendly, and by the end of their service call, I felt like I had new family members, that were genuinely invested in my happiness with the work performed. They left my house in pristine condition, taking great care to clean up any debris that the work itself created, and to answer in meticulous detail any questions my wife or I had during their visit. The price was extremely fair considering the amount of work, and no hidden charges were applied. I was quoted a price, and that is the price we paid. I would trust AdvantaClean to take care of any issues I had at my home or business related to mold, water damage, air quality concerns, or fire/smoke damage. Without question, I highly recommend this company and their incredible team to help you should you require services related to these particular fields, with a considerable and distinctive endorsement of Luis and Juan, who I suggest you request by name. In closing, AdvantaClean more than lived up to their stellar reputation by providing fast, professional, and exemplary service, and I would recommend them to anyone."

Sonic Cleaning questions, answered by experts

An improper DIY roof cleaning could cause leaks by damaging the roofing material. Things like using too much water pressure on the shingles or applying a harsh cleaning solution could cause damage. If you do enough damage, you could harm the ability of the shingles or other roof materials to keep water out of your home.

Tile roofs, including clay, concrete, and slate, are considered low-maintenance materials that require fewer repairs and less care than many other roofing options.

  • Clay tiles require minimal maintenance. They stand up well to the elements and UV radiation, repel water, and do not easily stain, discolor, or fade in direct sunlight. Clay tiles do not need sealing. Maintenance is typically only required to replace cracked tiles, which can be caused by foot traffic, extreme weather, or fallen tree limbs.

  • Concrete tiles are also low-maintenance but require more upkeep than clay. They need to be sealed every few years to maintain water resistance, and their color tends to fade more quickly than clay.

Aside from these material-specific needs, general maintenance for tile roofs includes annual inspections, routine gutter cleaning, and addressing repairs as they arise. A well-maintained tile roof can provide 50 to 100 years or more of protection for your home.

You should not clean roof shingles if the roof has damage like missing shingles or low spots where water may accumulate. You should focus on repairing the roof before any cleaning process occurs. If you notice roof damage as you’re climbing on the roof to clean it, stop immediately. Call a roofing pro to make repairs. Cleaning a roof that has damage could lead to pooling water or water damage to the roof decking. The roof cleaning process removes mold and mildew, making the roof look better. It is not going to fix physical damage, though.

It is possible to wash your own roof, but we don’t recommend it. First, getting up on any roof is dangerous without proper safety equipment, especially if wetting a metal roof and making the surface slick. Additionally, it’s easy to damage your roof or force water between roof seams if you use a power washer, which can lead to property damage. Hiring a professional roof cleaner will save you time, keep you safe, and ensure that your roof looks new again without damaging it in the process. Plus, roof cleaning is a relatively affordable home improvement project.

The cost of removing snow from a roof averages between $300 and $700. However, this cost can range from $200 to $3,000, depending on the size of your roof, the amount of snow, and roof accessibility.

Since snowfall can range from light powder to heavy and condensed snow, part of the price of roof snow removal depends on the amount and type of snow. For 12 inches of snow, you can expect to pay between $200 and $2,000 for this job. However, for 24 inches of snow, that price rises to $300 to $3,000.
