"Kevin did a stellar job, and even though a few of the cabinet doors came from the company/factory a bit scuffed...he ordered new ones and replaced them, no questions asked in a timely fashion. He takes pride in his work and is very attentive to your needs and just a great guy to work with. Super friendly, fair, honest, and hard working. My kitchen looks fabulous amd is so nice and bright now with my new white cabinets!! "I couldn’t be happier with the work done on my bathroom tile! The quality is outstanding and the finished space looks incredible. He was professional, courteous, and always on time. He came prepared with his own materials, worked cleanly, and made the whole process stress-free. Honestly, he’s the best tile installer I’ve ever hired. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for top-tier workmanship!"

Offers commercial services

"Bill from Tropicana was amazing. His company offers what every home owner desires in the contractor they hire. Knowledgeable and experienced, prompt and courteous, Bill was meticulous in every aspect of my project. From planning, installation and clean up, every detail was handled with care. I always felt comfortable leaving him alone in my house. He was even good with my dogs! Last but not least he made my project affordable. I received a BEAUTIFUL tiled shower for "pennies" more than one of those prefabricated inserts. I am lucky to have hired him, and would give a verbal recommendation to anyone considering his services."

Closets questions, answered by experts

Closet design services include help designing and laying out your closet for maximum utility, visual appeal, and return on investment. Many closet designers can also include the carpentry required to construct your custom closet. You should speak with your designer beforehand to determine what services are included in the estimate, and prepare to lay out additional funds for materials or labor as needed.

Tiny house living requires creative solutions to the one biggest issue: space. Many people in tiny houses find life most manageable if they practice minimalism. Eliminating excess items and clutter makes the living space feel bigger, which can be a significant mood booster. It can also be challenging to get utilities arranged for a tiny house, and building and zoning codes can and often do present unique challenges to overcome.

When storing your clothes long-term, first consider the container's breathability. While plastic bags, cardboard boxes, or vacuum sealing may be great options for short-term storage, they won’t help your clothes hold up in the long term. Breathable plastic boxes and fabric bags help with airflow, prevent mold or mildew from building up, and allow proper airflow.

On average, building a custom or built-in closet costs around $2,100. However, the total price can range from as little as $500 for a simple DIY project to $6,000 or more for a large, high-end custom closet. Most projects typically fall between $1,500 and $5,000.

The final cost depends on several factors, including the closet's size, type, materials, and features. Here is a general cost breakdown by closet type:

  • Reach-in closet: $500 to $1,500

  • Walk-in closet: $750 to $5,000

  • Wardrobe: $2,000 to $6,000 or more

Choosing a prefabricated closet system is generally less expensive than a fully custom build. The scope of design and construction services will also significantly impact the price.

You can budget a little less money for how to build a closet with wire shelves than with wood shelves. Some people don’t like the aesthetics that wire shelves provide, though, meaning they’ll gladly spend a little more to add wood shelves to the build. If you decide to buy pre-made wire shelves instead of building custom-sized wood shelves, you’ll be restricted in the closet shelving dimensions you can use.
