"Javier is very, very good and is a man of his word. He came out on a Sunday to have a look and estimate our stucco job. Said he could do the work the following Friday. As promised, he came the following Friday afternoon and knocked our stucco job. He even stayed late to make sure it the job was complete. Very reasonable price. "The original project was to repair/replace a few siding boards that had rotted due to water intrusion. Not only did he replace the rotten boards, but he corrected a separate siding issue under windows on the deck. He also repaired drywall by the water leak on the inside and a few spots on ceilings where there were separate water issues. He was very prompt and did an excellent job. "Gabor did a great job repairing some drywall. He did a fine job of matching texture on ceiling which was a different than wall. Did a great job matching wall as well. Also, he did baseboards in a closet and they now match well with the rest of the room. Cleaned up after the job. Very friendly and easy to work with."

Yes, you can screw directly into stucco. Only do so if the item you are installing is a permanent fixture. Drill a pilot hole into the stucco using a masonry or concrete bit, then drive in the screw with a power drill or screwdriver.

A standard drill will work just fine if you’re drilling small holes, and only a few of them. But anything with a diameter larger than 3/8 inch is best done with a hammer drill, since it is stronger, faster, and also makes your drill bits last longer. While you don’t absolutely need a hammer drill for stucco, it is a worthy investment if you think you might drill more holes down the road.

Stucco will dry in two to three days, but you should wait one to two months to allow it to cure fully before you paint it. The curing process is slow, but leaving the material exposed to air and natural moisture will help it reach its maximum strength. If you live in a hot, arid climate, wait a month before painting. Wait two months before painting if you live in a more moderate or wet climate.

To repair damaged exterior stucco, you’ll first remove all loose and crumbling material from the damaged area. You then need to thoroughly clean the area and dampen it to ensure proper bonding. After that, you’ll apply a bonding agent to the repair area, then apply new stucco in layers, allowing for curing time between each layer. The final coat should be textured to match the surrounding stucco pattern as closely as possible. Once fully cured, the repaired area can be painted to match the rest of the wall if needed.

The best tape that works on stucco is the kind made explicitly for stucco surfaces. Look for tape that specifies stucco, masonry, or cement installations. The adhesive usually needs to be thicker and more durable to remain stuck to these rough surfaces.
