"5 star service all the way! Did all the work and then some. Did the house, pool deck, pool cage, driveway, and sidewalk. The house paint looks new now! Did extras "while I was there anyway" - the decorative rocks in front (they look great now) the brick retention wall outside along the pool deck ( it looks new now!) and the postal box post (it looks new now too)"

"He is a very kind and nice person. You can rely on his professional work. His price is very reasonable for what he did for me. He painted my cemented patio floor, and did an extra service such as moving my plant pots in patio that he is able to clean and paint it. He also moved my pots back to my patio next day. He did paint the frame of my garage door which was peeled off without charging an extra fee for his service."

"He was not as fast as I thought. But the quality and time he took was apparent in the care and quality evident in the finished product. Guess I am just use to Workman in a hurry. He puts quality into the work that makes it great. Would hire again and might for my deck."

"Matt did an superb job on painting the exterior of our 3,374 square foot home. He was very neat, detailed, and meticulous. Our home never looked so good, not even when it was brand new (built in 2008)! Also, we had originally considered re-staining the front door but Matt suggested a semi gloss paint and we are so happy that we took his advice! The door looks absolutely gorgeous!!! We highly recommend Clima-Guard painting if you are looking for a true professional with proven outstanding results"

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Hot, intense sunshine can cause your stain to dry too quickly, which could lead it to look uneven or patchy. If you’re staining the deck during hotter months, it’s best to do it in the morning or evening once the wood has had time to cool down. If you’re staining in cooler weather with less sunshine, the time of day won’t make as much of a difference.

There are more pros than cons when staining a deck. Deck stain is more affordable than paint, it protects the wood and allows the natural textures to shine through, and it can revive the appearance of your home. However, deck stain also requires prep work (sometimes days or more), carries more upkeep than a painted deck, and can fade over time if not cared for.

Aftercare includes routine cleaning, checking for water repellency, and promptly addressing any chips or peels, maintaining the deck's appearance and functionality.

It’s best to use an exterior latex acrylic paint to promote maximum adhesion to composite decking. This flexible paint type can better cope with the natural expansion and contraction that can occur with composite deck boards. Oil-based paints won’t adhere as effectively and are more likely to crack and peel as the boards flex. Testing whether your chosen paint will stick on an inconspicuous section or a spare board is a good idea.

You don’t necessarily have to remove all the old paint before repainting your deck, but it’s best to remove as much as possible to ensure a smooth and long-lasting finish. Prioritize scraping off loose, peeling, or flaking paint, and sand down rough areas to create a smooth surface for the new paint to bond with.
