"It was definitely a busy roofing season. Like everyone else; we waited for our reroof. John Keller is personally involved in doing quality work and being sure customers are satisfied. He personally put the tarp on our roof. We knew then we made the right choice. He was upfront about everything. He is a fair man. That is rare in business."

"Sunrise was exceptional to work with. Their communication was frequent and consistent. They were very respectful of our schedule and came to us for paperwork, payments, etc. The team that did the roof replacement was efficient and incredibly tidy. The project manager kept us informed throughout the project about the process and what needed to be done (wood replaced, etc.). Their price was very reasonable. We got quotes from 4 companies and were most impressed with the thoroughness of the Sunrise quote, the price and communication."

"Excellent. Davide and his crew are true professional. They did everything they said they would do and finished when they said they would. I couldn't be happier with their service and will be using them again for other projects as I go through remodeling this condo."

Skylights questions, answered by experts

Ceiling costs depend on many factors, such as the material used and size, but coffered ceilings are considered one of the more expensive ceiling options. If you want to install a coffered ceiling but have a limited budget, consider using plywood instead of hardwood—it costs $2–$4.50 per square foot, while hardwood can be as much as $20 per square foot.

Repairing or replacing a skylight generally takes between a few hours to a full day. Simple repairs might take 2 to 4 hours, depending on the complexity of the problem. The total time can vary based on factors like weather conditions, the accessibility of the skylight, and the extent of the work required, such as replacing the entire unit versus performing minor repairs.

Yes, skylights can affect a home’s energy efficiency, either positively or negatively. Properly installed, energy-efficient skylights with Low-E coatings, double glazing, and UV-blocking glass can help regulate indoor temperatures and reduce heating and cooling costs. However, poorly insulated or older skylights can contribute to heat loss in winter and excess heat gain in summer, lowering overall energy efficiency.

This is based on personal preference, budget, and the vibe you are going for with your holiday lighting. If you are looking for the cheapest option, incandescent lights are a budget-friendly choice. You can also opt for sheets of lights that cover areas such as trees and bushes for easier installation.

In most cases, installing skylights will add value to your home, making them a worthwhile investment for many homeowners. Buyers are often attracted to the aesthetic appeal of skylights, as they make rooms feel brighter, airier, and more spacious by introducing natural light without compromising privacy. Beyond aesthetics, skylights can offer monetary benefits by potentially reducing energy bills. Additionally, models that can be opened provide extra ventilation, which is particularly useful in hotter climates for allowing accumulated hot air to escape from the ceiling. However, the return on investment depends on several factors. To maximize value, it's crucial that the skylights are installed by an experienced professional to avoid risks like water damage, which can deter savvy buyers. Regular maintenance and cleaning are also important. Furthermore, choosing the right frame and glazing materials for your specific climate will enhance their performance and appeal. While skylights are generally seen as an asset, homeowners should also consider the initial cost, which averages around $1,500 for installation.
