"Michael was thoroughly professional. His work on everything was superb. He sealed our newly tiled travertine floors and they are beautiful. He also cleaned and sealed our kitchen tile and it looks amazing. The deep cleaning he did on our upholstered furniture and carpets was carefully done and the entire apartment looks (and smells) squeaky clean. He took down, cleaned and rehung the draperies in four rooms. They look like they are new."

Sonic Cleaning questions, answered by experts

No, you should not use a pressure washer or power washer on roof shingles, including asphalt shingles. The high water pressure is too strong and can damage the shingles by loosening their adhesive, forcing water underneath them, or causing them to fall off. The safer and better option is soft washing with a pump sprayer. For best results and to avoid damage, consider hiring a local roof cleaner to clean your shingles safely.

Regular cleaning, promptly repairing minor issues, ensuring proper drainage, and using rust-resistant coatings help prevent recurring damage.

Soft washing chemicals typically consist of a mix of sodium hypochlorite (or a chemical component of bleach) and water. While sodium hypochlorite and bleach are often thought to be the same thing, there is one small but key difference between the two: sodium hypochlorite comes in powdered rather than liquid form, which means that it’s also more concentrated and more effective from less product overall.

Clearing snow from your roof can be a tedious and time-consuming job. Even so, it is extremely important to maintain your roof during the winter months. You can help prevent ice dams and avoid roof collapse.

As a side note, rather than shoveling your roof, you should always use a roof rake to modify the job. Otherwise, call in a professional.

Vinegar will not damage your roof shingles. Using vinegar to wash your roof is an effective and popular cleaning method for asphalt shingles. You can buy white vinegar with varying concentrations of acetic acid. Typically, 5% is all you need for a good roof cleaning, but if you’ve got stubborn stains or moss you can go as high as 25%.
