"Joshua was extremely conscientious about his schedule and his work. If he said he was going to call or arrive at a specific time, he did. He also kept me updated on his progress and was concerned about getting things just right. He thought I might need more paper at one point because he wanted to get the pattern lined up just right. He improvised in the end so that I didn't have to order more. I was told by another wallpaper hanger that peel and stick wallpaper was very hard to get right, but Joshua did a beautiful job. I couldn't be more pleased! I would use him again and would highly recommend his work to anyone!"

Small jobs welcome

"I called A Helpful Handyman to clean out a dryer vent. We have had the service done a few times before, but no one ever did it anywhere near as well as they did. Believe me, he takes his work seriously. Started inside the dryer and went all the way from there to the outside vent and I donâ t mean just putting a vacuum cleaner in there. He had proper tools and did more than anyone Iâ ve ever seen before. I can honestly say, I believe this was the only time it had ever been cleaned properly. I really believe if I had used him the last time I had this service performed, I would not be doing it again for a long time This quote for the job was also more competitive than anybody else we ever used. I definitely would highly recommend him, and will use him again myself for sure"

"They did fine. They came and gave me an estimate prior to doing the work. They worked on the weekends. They came and knocked out just under a half acre of the existing fence. They brought a small crew that morning and were done by dark. The project took two days total to complete."

Wallpaper Removal questions, answered by experts

Once again, contact with moisture is the culprit here, though water-resistant varieties of wallpaper are less likely to become wet and develop mold. Using a high-quality exhaust fan or dehumidifier and leaving the doors or windows cracked after bathing will keep this issue at bay.

Think hard before deciding to German schmear your home’s exterior brickwork. If you do not like the look, you are pretty much stuck with it, as it is impossible to remove this finish the way you can remove paint. You risk damaging the underlying brick if you have to chisel and acid-wash it away. It will also take a very long time, and remnants of the mortar wash will always remain.

In most cases, it is not recommended to wallpaper over existing wallpaper, as the success depends on the type of paper already on the wall. While you might be able to cover non-coated wallpaper, you should never apply new wallpaper over a vinyl-coated one, which is more common. Doing so can lead to poor adhesion, resulting in bubbles, imperfections, and peeling. It can also trap moisture, potentially causing hazardous mold growth between the layers.

Even if the existing wallpaper is suitable, experts recommend applying only one new layer. Adding multiple layers (more than two total) can cause significant adhesion problems, leading to warping and bubbling. For the best results, the recommended approach is to remove the old wallpaper and all paste residue before hanging the new paper. If you are unsure about your wallpaper type, consider consulting a professional.

The average cost to install or hang wallpaper is around $575 per room or project, with typical prices ranging from $200 to $1,500. Costs can be higher for custom or luxury products. Since project size varies, it's often helpful to estimate labor costs per square foot, which generally fall between $1 and $7, with an average of $4 per square foot. The total cost depends on several factors, including the quality and type of wallpaper, the size and type of the room, and whether old wallpaper must be removed first. Opting for less expensive materials like peel-and-stick wallpaper or choosing to do the installation yourself can lower the overall cost. For the most accurate estimate, it is best to have a professional inspect the space and provide a quote.

You may end up with extra wallpaper once your project is finished. Hang on to that wallpaper, as you may need to use it to patch up areas that get damaged later on. If you have a lot of excess wallpaper, try getting creative with it. You can use it to line the inside of a cabinet or drawers, for example.
