"Scott was FANTASTIC. Called 3 other plumbers none could find the main drain to the city connection. Scott called from another job and looked up city records and within one minute he told us exactly where it was. His communication was unbelievable. He said he could get permits, 2 clean outs and have it done in two days. HE DID. And super cheap. Highly recommend. Heâ s old school no BS and a man of his word."

Customers say: Quality work

"completed the request for a plumber. Had a telephone response from owner, David within 5-10 minutes. Explained what we wanted, which was removal of an old Hot Water Heater and replacement with a new water heater. An appointment was scheduled for the next day at 11:30am. David called next day, Sunday morning, to confirm the appointment and stated he would be able to come earlier. Upon his arrival, he assessed the issue and recommended the brand, the size and provided an immediate estimate. David was more reasonable than any of the other five companies contacted, including Lowe's and Home Depot! This owner was courteous, knowledgeable and very professional. My husband is tougher on professionals than anyone out there. But, David won him over! You will not be disappointed with Day or Night Plumbing. We would definitely use David for any plumbing needs. We have used the professionals from Home Advisor several times and have not been disappointed to date. Good job David!"

Affordable Plumbers FAQs, answered by experts

Clearwater's humid climate and proximity to the Gulf mean plumbing systems must withstand high moisture and occasional salt exposure. Rare winter freezes can threaten exposed pipes, so insulation is key. During hurricane season, the City of Clearwater Building Department recommends securing outdoor plumbing fixtures and checking sump pumps. Scheduling major plumbing work in spring or fall can help avoid weather-related delays and ensure optimal installation conditions.

Helpful?

When reviewing plumbing quotes in Clearwater, be cautious of contractors who lack a verifiable business address, request full payment upfront, or pressure you for immediate decisions. Unusually low estimates can indicate shortcuts or non-compliance with the Florida Building Code. Always verify that the plumber is licensed and insured through the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, and request recent local references to ensure reliability.

Helpful?

For plumbing projects in Clearwater, PEX piping is highly recommended due to its flexibility and resistance to mineral buildup, which is important given the area's water quality. CPVC is often used for hot water lines, while PVC is standard for drainage. Copper is durable but less common near the coast due to potential corrosion. Always choose materials approved by the Florida Building Code and verified by local supply professionals familiar with Clearwater's conditions.

Helpful?

In Clearwater, most plumbing work—such as new installations, major repairs, water heater replacements, and sewer line upgrades—requires a permit issued by the City of Clearwater Building Department. Minor repairs like replacing faucets or unclogging drains generally do not need permits. All permitted plumbing projects must comply with the Florida Building Code and are subject to both rough-in and final inspections by city officials to ensure code compliance.

Helpful?

In Clearwater, hidden costs during plumbing work often stem from code compliance upgrades required by the City of Clearwater Building Department, unexpected mold remediation due to persistent humidity, and addressing corrosion in older or coastal homes. Delays in permit approvals may increase labor time, and fluctuating material availability can impact project timelines. High water tables in some neighborhoods can also complicate sewer line repairs or replacements.
