"We started using The Cleaning Specialists, LLC to clean our home about 4 months ago. David and Lori both came to our house and reviewed what we wanted done and provided us a quote that was competitive and fair. They have cleaned our house now about 5 times and we couldn't be happier. They are VERY thorough, always on time, and very professional. David is really good at cleaning all of our slider windows and Lori makes our tile and wood floors spotless. The house always shines and smells so clean when they are done. We highly recommend them."

Small jobs welcome

"Just had my windows cleaned by Your Local Window Cleaners, and they did an awesome job. The windows look crystal clear, and they even took care of the tracks and screens, which made a huge difference. Super friendly, showed up on time, and the price was really fair. It’s crazy how much brighter the house looks now. I’ll definitely be using them again—and probably having them clean the gutters and solar panels next time too. Highly recommend!"

"Would have liked Armando to redo one of the 3 rooms, the master bdrm. Did not look as good as the other 2 rooms which were done very well. The detergent smell did not seem as pronounced in the 3rd and last room he worked on, and the master bdrm. dried a lot quicker than the other 2 rooms."

House Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Clean your vinyl plank floors at least one to two times per week with a broom, vacuum, or microfiber mop. You can save the mopping and disinfecting for your deeper cleans about two to three times a month. Keep in mind that if you find sticky spots, spills, or stains, it's best to take care of them ASAP.

Smoke can be tricky to remove from your home, especially after a fire. The best way to eliminate the smell is to open the windows to increase ventilation and air circulation in your house. Then, use white vinegar to wipe down walls, furniture, and floors. Try steam-cleaning carpet and other upholstered items to remove the smell of smoke.

You can use dish soap mixed with warm water to clean just about any type of flooring, and while vinegar is a great addition to some floor cleaners, it’s not a good idea to use it on wood flooring or engineered wood flooring. Vinegar is very acidic, and it can gradually eat away at the protective finish on wood floors. If you’re cleaning laminate, tile, concrete, or vinyl floors, feel free to use vinegar and water in a 1-to-1 ratio with a few drops of dish soap. For wood floors, substitute the vinegar for olive oil.

Smoke smell and odors typically will not go away completely on their own, especially once the particles have penetrated porous materials like walls, floors, ceilings, and furniture. While airing out affected items can help the smell subside over time, it often lingers for months or even years. To effectively remove stubborn smoke odors, you should combine several methods. Start with a thorough deep cleaning and deodorizing using substances like baking soda or activated charcoal. Air purifiers can also help capture airborne particles. In severe cases, you may need to replace heavily damaged materials. If the smell persists after repeated treatments, consider hiring a professional smoke damage restoration company for assistance.

Ideally, you should clean your freezer thoroughly about every three months. But if unplugging and defrosting the freezer frequently stresses you out, aim to give it a deep clean at least twice per year.
