"I highly recommend TLS. They were very professional & best priced out of 3 quotes I received for new insulation in my attic. They showed up on time and completed the work as described. The owner stopped by to check on the job which rarely ever happens with contractors nowadays. I am extremely happy and satisfied with my choice of TLS and their work. Thank you!"

"I had an amazing experience with this spray foam insulation company. From the first phone call, they were upfront, honest, and very knowledgeable. The crew showed up exactly when they said they would and walked me through the whole process before starting. They insulated my attic and part of my garage, and the difference was noticeable the same day ? the rooms stay cooler, and the AC doesn?t run nearly as much"

"I feel like wrapping the perimeter area to prevent further rodent entry is maybe a little out of their wheelhouse. Live trap, as stated on invoice, was not set around perimeter. This was included in the estimate at $0.00 charge, just was not done. Maybe it was determined whatever was getting under the mobile home was not going there, I don't know because communication was not very good. Patrick and David were very kind and courteous to this old lady. Communication between the two of them seemed to be confused, in turn communication, or lack of, with me was confusing. Apparently they are great at the insulation part of their business."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Experts use advanced techniques and tools to assess existing insulation levels and identify gaps. They implement strategic placement of new insulation to ensure complete coverage, optimizing thermal resistance and energy efficiency.

You do not need to drywall over most types of garage insulation. However, doing so can increase noise reduction, make the space more attractive, and keep children and pets from touching harmful fiberglass insulation. If you’re using cellulose or some other type of blown-in insulation (fiberglass and mineral wool are common), you will need drywall to contain the insulation material.

Your house may be cold even if the heat is on because of bad insulation, gaps in doors, small holes pulling hot air from the home, or excess humidity. The heater itself might be malfunctioning. For this problem, you’d need to talk to an HVAC pro. If you have a gas heating system (most do) this should be considered an urgent job as natural gas could be leaking in your home.

The best way to reduce heat upstairs is to release it by opening a window. Hot air rises, and if you can create some airflow by opening a window upstairs and also one on a lower level, the hot air should be pushed out of the home. Remember that fans pointing out the window do a much better job of circulating air than fans pointing into the home.

If you’re a savvy DIYer around the house, own the basic tools, and have enough time on your hands, you can definitely install fiberglass insulation yourself. Doing the work yourself will certainly keep overall insulation costs down. However, if you’re not confident in your handy skills around the house, call in a professional.
