"Extremely satisfied and happy from day 1 , Rafael and Johnathon were very professional, they were here several times during and at the end of installation to check the progress . The most expensive countertop materials are marble and granite. These natural materials are very heavy and require specialized tools and knowledge to install. Their natural veins and flecks elevate the design and make a beautiful statement in the kitchen or bathroom. Because they’re natural, no two countertops will be the same. 

Terrazzo is considered an eco-friendly and sustainable material because it is often made from recycled materials, such as chips of glass, marble, or polished metal, which helps reduce waste. While the epoxy resin used as a binder has its own environmental impact, it requires relatively low energy for production and does not release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) once fully cured, which helps lower the overall carbon footprint.

With proper maintenance, concrete countertops can last for decades, with a life expectancy of 50 years or more. At a minimum, they should last 20 years before major issues arise. Their longevity depends on the quality of materials, proper installation, and consistent care. Because concrete is porous, it is prone to cracking and staining. Regular maintenance, including resealing, waxing, and repairing any chips or cracks, is essential to preserve its lifespan.

Most recycled glass countertops are nonporous, so they don’t require sealant. There is, however, one major exception. If your recycled glass countertop contains a cement binder, it’ll require an additional layer of protection. Seal these countertops once or twice a year. Use a concrete sealant and finish it with a food-safe wax for a gorgeous and shiny finish. Otherwise, just clean the countertop regularly and always use a cutting board.

While no countertop material is truly “heatproof,” granite countertops are extremely resistant to high temperatures. Some types of granite can withstand temperatures up to 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit. However, we don’t recommend placing hot pots and pans directly on granite countertops. Even if it doesn’t scar the granite, it may damage the sealant.
