"Due to the rains the project had to be postponed a week or so, but they got the job done and the papers are beautiful in the driveway. HomeAdvisor wanted a specific project. I do not know what asphalt paving is. But I know that these are nice pavers."

"We hired All Rite for 2 different projects. Both projects were started by other contractors who didn’t finish. Dennis came in and assessed the situation, gave is a reasonable price and gave us a detailed schedule. We are very pleased with the quality of work and overall customer service experience. He had great follow through and his crew were professional and also kept us informed of everything. We will definitely use this company for all our future paving and asphalt needs."

"I contacted Terra Tile and Pavers through Angie's List and Jeanette responded almost immediately. I reached out to Terra in part because of the reviews I read and I was definitely not disappointed. All my communications were via email as I was away at the time, but wanted to have the job done. Javier reviewed my request, went to the house to inspect, quoted cost and estimated time and in short order took care of the repair/reset. My HOA were very specific that any contractor selected leave the job site neat, clean and refuse free, and that's exactly what the crew did. At my request they took "before and after" photographs for my reference and all together made for an extremely seamless and pain-free project. Kudos to Javier, Jeanette and all the folks who work at Terra Tile and Pavers. Try them, you won't be disappointed."

"I recently hired Pave USA for a concrete driveway installation at my property in West Palm Beach, and I am beyond impressed with the results. From start to finish, the team provided outstanding service, making the entire process seamless and stress-free. First off, the customer service was top-notch. The team was friendly, professional, and took the time to answer all of my questions during the initial consultation. They helped me choose the best concrete option for my driveway, explaining the benefits and different finishes available. When it came to the actual work, Pave USA exceeded all my expectations. The crew arrived on time, were incredibly efficient, and paid attention to every detail. They prepped the site thoroughly, ensuring a solid foundation and the finished product is smooth, level, and looks fantastic. The craftsmanship is exceptional, and it’s clear they used high-quality materials that will last for years to come. I also appreciated the team’s punctuality and cleanliness— they made sure to keep the work area tidy, and they were respectful of my property throughout the entire project. The job was completed on schedule, with minimal disruption, and at a very fair price considering the high level of service provided. If you’re in the West Palm Beach area and need concrete services, I highly recommend Pave USA. Their professionalism, skill, and dedication to customer satisfaction are unmatched. I’ll definitely be using them for any future concrete work!"

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

In most cases, you don’t need a permit to repave your driveway, although some exceptions exist. If you’re widening your driveway and plan on widening the apron as well, you’ll usually need a permit from the Department of Transportation in your area. This permit costs between $50 and $300 in most cases. Most municipalities will also require a certified and insured contractor do the work relating to the apron and curb cut. You can contact your building department or ask your paving company if you need a permit. Your driveway professional will usually pull the permit for you.

If your new pavers look dull or unclean, it is likely due to efflorescence, a chalky, white powder that forms when lime in the pavers gets wet. This condition often resolves on its own, as rain will naturally wash it away within about a year. For faster results, you can use a pressure washer to clean the pavers. Alternatively, consider using cleaning products specifically designed to remove efflorescence or applying sulfuric acid crystals.

The dimensions of a driveway apron vary based on local building codes, the width of your driveway, and the distance between the driveway and the road. On average, aprons range from 12 to 24 feet wide and 8 to 18 feet long. Typically, the end of the apron connected to the driveway matches its width—such as 10 to 12 feet for a single-car driveway—while the end at the street flares out to allow cars to turn in and out more easily. In some areas, you may not be responsible for the portion of the apron that extends beyond the sidewalk, but this depends on local laws.

Many asphalt companies have experience with tar and chip paving, but not all. The process is unique enough—and not incredibly common enough—that you may have to look around for a tar and chip specialist. However, speaking with a driveway company is a great place to start, especially if they have experience with multiple materials.

Yes, you should lightly wet the sand with a hose before laying the pavers on top. This activates the bonding agents in the sand, ensuring that your pavers don’t shift around during the installation process. However, you should make sure that the sand is not soaked; overwatering can cause the sand and pavers to not set properly.
