"The Most Reliable Vintage Kitchen Remodeler in Miami During the 2nd. Week of October of this year my wife and I decided to remodel our 25 year old kitchen, using the same cabinets that we had, buying just a few additional floor cabinets from a local supplier and installing new quartz countertops. To be able to do this we needed to demolish an existing wall and redoing the electrical supply cables to the kitchen. This was done during the first 2 weeks of work. With the cabinets additions, it was necessary to reposition some of the wall and most of the floor cabinets - easier said than done !!!!!! The handyman that was doing the work, never had done, neither had worked with a countertop supplier. ; least yet they had never met the countertop supplier we had chosen. When they came, every cabinet was out of whack and hey told, Mr. mora that it was impossible for them to install the counter tops, with the work they had supposedly completed at the end of the third week. I had to find a solution to what seemed an impossible task. Consulted several internet pages to find possible candidates and visited several local kitchen remodelers. On October 26th., Art Carpentry Shop, was one of the four possibilities I was considering. I sent requests for quotes to all 4 of the remodelers, 2 answered and I had found other 2 shops close to where we live (by the way these 2 were the most expensive. Other 2 shops responded and among these two I got a response by phone from Mr. Ravaal Almada, owner of Art Carpentry Shop; he came early the next morning and by the early afternoon he was t my house again with a quote for a two step program: to reposition the cabinets and to reface and repaint all cabinets doors and drawers fronts. The quote was several thousand dollars below the price of the other 2 shops close to my house. That was on a Friday and he said he was ready to complete the work he was working on that weekend and be at our home, next Monday, October 29th. 2018. On this date the kitchen remodeling started again. I was happy to see Mr. Almada in action and preparing all floor cabinets, lining them up, so that the counter installers - Exotic Marble Creations - would return to retake the measurements and be able to start cutting the countertops. A week later, on November 8th., these countertops were put in place. Mr. Ravaal was happy with the way the counters look and continued the remodeling process. With his architectural and space use knowledge, long years of experience and great quality artisan workmanship, he continued finishing up the kitchen area and the pantry / bar areas. Once every cabinet was in place, he took off all cabinets doors and drawer fronts and back panels as well as the refrigerator and pantry side panels to take them to his painter. On the week before Thanksgiving I was hospitalized but was happy to get back home to see the remodeling of the kitchen finalized. It was the best surprise I could get and we are happy with the"

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

You should use glue and screws when installing butcher block countertops. Opt for a construction adhesive or wood glue applied along the top edge of your base cabinets. For added strength, install support brackets on the base cabinets, then secure your countertop with screws. Make sure you only tighten the screws to the point where the butcher block is snug against the cabinet and don’t overtighten.

The lifespan of painted countertops depends on the products used and how well they are maintained. Generally, they can last for a couple of years before needing a fresh coat. To maximize their longevity, it is vital to apply a durable sealer, such as a resin or water-based acrylic topcoat, over the paint. After applying the sealer, allow it to cure for the full recommended time, which can range from seven to ten days, to ensure a fully protected surface.

Yes, many services include the removal and disposal of old countertops. Confirm with your installer.

Yes, onyx is more expensive than granite. Its higher cost is due to its rarity, delicate nature, and the specialized care it requires. While granite countertops typically cost between $2,000 and $4,000, onyx is considered a premium material. Its luxurious, translucent appearance and unique ability to be backlit also contribute to the higher price. In terms of durability, granite is a hard, durable surface, whereas onyx is more delicate and can be damaged if not handled carefully.

Recycled glass countertops can last between 10 and 20 years with regular care and maintenance. The exact lifespan depends on the binding agent used; acrylic is a highly durable choice, while concrete may shorten the countertop's life. Because the material is non-porous, it is heat-resistant, stain-resistant, and easy to clean, allowing it to withstand the rigors of a modern kitchen without showing significant wear and tear for over a decade.
