Small jobs welcome

"Travis and Nathan were absolutely fabulous! The tree trimming job they accomplished was far and above anything we expected. They spent exta time after the job was done putting back all of our bird baths and hanging plants. If you need tree trimming or power washing please call them first. Wonderful experience a d wonderful workers!"

"We hired Tripps Chimney Solutions to come out and give us an inspection on our chimney and fireplace in December! When the owner got here to do the work he gave us an excellent price and provided the services we agreed on! He told me we had to do a sweep to clean the inside of the chimney so he could properly inspect it! After it was cleaned he climbed into the attic and started looking around. And then he was off to the roof! He climbed up there and checked out the chimney as well as our top mount damper! He came down and showed us pictures of all of the areas that needed fixed! We had to get mortar repaired on bricks underneath the cap! He repaired everything. I highly recommend this company!"

"Lewis is one of the best painters I have ever hired. He did a beautiful job on my kitchen and one of the bathrooms. It was not a easy job. I had picked out a very light color and the old color was very dark. I am not a person who is easily impressed but Lewis did such a great job. He is the only painter I will be using for future projects."

Fireplace Cleaners questions, answered by experts

Cracks in the chimney can be very serious, depending on their location and size. Even small cracks can become serious over time if left unrepaired. Cracks allow heat and moisture to deteriorate your chimney and harmful carbon monoxide gas to seep into your home. Small cracks can often be caulked, while large cracked sections may require full replacement.

Yes, brick should be clean before staining to ensure the best results. Dirt, dust, mold, mildew, and other substances on the brick can prevent the stain from properly adhering to it. Thoroughly cleaning the brick allows the stain to penetrate and bond to the surface more effectively. Cleaning typically involves using a pressure washer or a stiff brush with mild detergent. However, stubborn residue may require a specialized masonry cleaner.

You should use an angled brush to first paint the mortar lines, then go in with a high-density roller to evenly paint the bricks one at a time. You can also use a flat paintbrush to paint individual bricks, but a roller is faster and easier to use thanks to its longer handle and wider surface area for coating the bricks. To finish, go in with the paint brush for edges or hard-to-reach areas.

Knowing who to hire to install your fireplace is important when it comes to having a safe place to burn a fire in your home. The best person to contact for installing fireplaces is a mason or general contractor who has a National Fireplace Institute (NFI) specialist certification. If you’re installing wood paneling, then it’s a good idea to also find a pro who is Wood Energy Technology Transfer (WETT)-certified.

Both of these certifications show that your pro is well-equipped to install fireplaces and inspect your home for the utmost safety.

A hearth often looks like a tile or brick floor that juts out from and surrounds your fireplace. A hearth can be made of stone, brick, ceramic, or any other fireproof material. Brick offers a classic and traditional vibe, whereas a hearth made of marble or ceramic may lean more toward modern aesthetics. The most common depth of a hearth is 20 inches.
