"If you want your painting job done well and for a good price, Look no further. We hired Clean Work Done Right to get rid of popcorn ceilings and refinish the ceilings throughout the entire first floor of our new house. Steve (the owner) did an incredible job. He worked independently without any supervision from us (we were still in a different state), updated us almost daily with his progress, and finished right on time and on budget. He did a BEAUTIFUL job and he kept the place CLEAN! Moving forward, Steve is our guy for all things painting. We would give him 10 stars if we could!"

Small jobs welcome

"Guy and team did a wonderful job on our ceilings. They took such good care of our house and personal items while fixing and painting our ceilings. They were very professional and have gone above and beyond of what we asked and paid them to do. I was very impressed with the quality of the work and how much effort they placed on making sure things were done to their liking even if it required additional steps on their end. I would absolutely recommend Guy and his team to everyone interested in exceptional quality work."

"Larry is the best. We have hired him to replace skylights, repair a ceiling with water damage, and most recently repair and repaint an entire ceiling. He shows up when he says he will. He quotes firm prices. He completes the job in time. Unfortunately he is in high demand so call early in your project."

Popcorn Ceilings questions, answered by experts

If your popcorn ceiling is asbestos-free and you are ready for a new look, painting is an option. As long as there is no flaking or other wear, a new coat of paint might be just the thing to refresh the old ceiling. The best way to paint a popcorn ceiling is to use either a paint sprayer or a thick roller to cover the popcorn texture fully. (Do not forget to dust it off beforehand!)

“Note that if you eventually want to remove the popcorn ceiling, a painted ceiling is a labor-intensive job to remove and will cost more,” says Bob Tschudi. “Once painted, the process of removing the popcorn ceiling requires physical scraping as opposed to a spray-and-scrape approach. It’s very labor-intensive, and thus more costly.”

The cost to repair a ceiling after a water leak can vary, with averages ranging from $419 to $1,359, or $45 to $55 per square foot. Smaller patches may cost around $150. The final price depends on the size of the affected area and the extent of the damage. Remember that you will also need to repair the source of the leak, such as roof damage or a plumbing issue, which can cost an additional $200 to $1,550. Depending on the situation, you might also face costs for repainting or repairing floors. For an accurate estimate, it is best to get a quote from a professional.

Although texturing walls may not seem like a lengthy project, you’ll need to set aside between one and five days to complete it properly. The exact amount will depend on the scope of your project—one room will take less than a whole-house project. That will give you enough time for tasks that are time-consuming in and of themselves, like taping wall edges, priming the walls and letting them dry fully, and actually applying the texture and top or base paint coats.

If your popcorn ceiling has noticeable cracks, you may want to have it checked by a professional before cleaning it. Adding any moisture or disturbing the ceiling may worsen the cracks, so find out if your ceiling needs to be repaired by a local contractor before cleaning.

Yes. Sagging ceilings often indicate more severe problems, such as structural damage, roof leaks, and pest infestations. As the sagging expands, your ceiling may eventually collapse, posing a threat to your physical safety and leading to expensive repair and restoration costs. That’s why you need to fix sagging ceilings as soon as you notice them.
