"Wonderful service! They gathered items from my basement, my porch, my guest room and from two areas on my property and hauled them off in a large box truck. I didn't have to lift a finger! Allwaste had quoted the same price but it was for a dumpster that I would have had to find a place for and then fill myself... and then wait for them to pick it back up. I highly recommend Eastside!"

Dumpster Service questions, answered by experts

Yes, many providers include recycling for eligible materials as part of their waste management services. It is recommended to confirm the specific services offered with your contractor.

The amount a 6-by-10-foot dump trailer can hold varies depending on the model. Generally, however, they can hold at least 4 cubic yards of waste with a load capacity of at least 4,000 lbs. This is around 1/4 to 1/2 the amount a standard junk removal truck can hold. It’s also considerably less than the most common dumpster size of 20 cubic yards.

Rental periods range from one day to several weeks. Confirm terms with the rental company.

Composting can be a great alternative if you’re looking for a way to dispose of food scraps without a garbage disposal. If you have the space in your yard, you can install a compost bin or compost pile and add food waste. After enough time and heat, the compost will break down and can be used to mulch your garden.

If you don’t have space for compost, consider city-run programs or local companies that will pick up your food waste.

When deciding what order to pack your home, starting with non-essential items such as seasonal decor, rarely used kitchenware, and extra linens is always a smart idea. Next, pack decorations and out-of-season clothing. Then move to kitchen items, electronics, and bathroom supplies, leaving essentials for last. Finally, pack a "first-night" box with must-haves like toiletries, clothes, and essential documents.
