"Great results from waterproofing. Turned my spring flooding anxiety to calm. As humidity rose in summer, I put in a small dehumidifier. Made basement noisy as it struggled to dry and produced a lot of heat. As temperatures rose to about 83 down there and the humidity rose to over 68%, I had same people put in a whole basement commercial-grade dehumidifier. The small unit dropped the humidity to around 50% in less than an hour. Incredible performance and have me peace of mind and peace and quiet downstairs. Temperature dropped gas as well. Weel worth the price to save my most expensive investment."

Small jobs welcome

"I've got a 112 year old hose that is pretty solid, but it had a cracked floor joist and part of the flooring wasn't properly supported. I hired Kristian and his team to install a couple of lally columns to support a carrying beam and sister a couple of floor joists. Many contractors wouldn't even return my call because I wasn't looking to complete a huge remodel job, but Kristian came over, gave me a fair verbal estimate on the spot, and worked with me on timing to complete the project. Not only that, but the solution wasn't overly complicated. The job was straightforward, completed exactly as described in the time described, and there was no scope creep. If I ever have a larger need, they'll certainly be my first call. I would highly recommend K&X construction if you need any services that they offer."

"We interviewed four companies for our project. Hilltop Remodeling wasn't the most expensive or the least expensive. Bill, the owner, is very personable and we liked him right off. He and his crew are very professional and completed the job in a timely manner. They removed a tub in our sons' bathroom. They expanded, built, plumbed, and tiled a new shower stall. Hilltop also re-grouted our tile and painted the bathroom and our son's bedroom. We are very happy with the results and would rehire Hilltop Remodeling again."

"After a large water leak in the upstairs kitchen, Weslyn and his team did an amazing job repairing my kitchen cabinets, wood floors, installing a new window, back splash and recessed lights. In the basement, all the walls were repaired, new trim was added, everything was painted, and recessed lights were also added. The largest part of the job however was the newly renovated bathroom. A beautiful new shower system, glass door, recessed lights, double sink vanity, new exhaust with Bluetooth (for music in the shower), and gorgeous tiles were added and the end result was just amazing! The crew were friendly, cleaned up after themselves and did an awesome job. Very respectful and just nice guys. After the renovation I had an issue with my sump pump and Weslyn immediately had a worker come to my house and repair. I would 100% recommend A2Z!"

Customers say: Quick response

"The carpenter that did the job (Adam) was amazing. He had to expand the space for one window, narrow the space for another, and repair much cedar siding that had rotted away due to water damage. He also reshaped my patio door so it would close and lock more easily. He is a very talented carpenter and I have no qualms about highly recommending him."

"There are not enough great things I can share about HammerTime Construction, and every single member of their team. From consultation to project completion, the high level of professionalism, expertise, SKILL, attention to detail, and superior craftsmanship was exemplary! We contacted William via Angi (blindly!) in hopes of helping my elderly parents restore their kitchen, and he agreed to come by that same day - a weekend- to do an assessment, and provide a quote. He assured us he'd work within our budget, and he stuck to his word. We were in constant contact for everything from project concept to contract to which materials we'd be selecting. Our expectations were surpassed 10-fold!! Hire them. Just look at the photos! Our parents' home was completely transformed in the best possible way. It will now be a source of pride and an enjoyable gathering space for all who visit. On top of the kitchen remodel, they also restored our hardwood floors to a beautiful state we didn't even know was possible. Miguel, Ignacio and the entire team were speedy, efficient and completely caring as though this were their own family's home. We will be returning to this company for future projects, and we recommend them with zero hesitation!!"
This was a larger bathroom with two accent walls, a tub and sauna shower with jetted shower heads, a custom-cut ceiling, heated pebble flooring, and a mini wooden walkway.
The client wanted a tub sitting on pebble stones with an accent wall, wooden look custom shelving, and a smart floating toilet.
The image showcases a contemporary stand-up shower featuring frameless glass doors that provide a seamless, open look. The interior is adorned with large marble tiles in a soft, neutral tone, giving the shower a luxurious feel.

Built-in niches provide stylish and practical storage for toiletries, while subtle LED lighting enhances the overall ambiance.

Basement Remodel questions, answered by experts

A walkout basement is considered to be partially below grade because at least one wall is entirely exposed. In some cases and in specific municipalities, inspectors and appraisers will still count walkout basements as below grade, which means the space can’t serve as living space or be rented out. If you intend on using the area as living space or a separate apartment, you should check with your local building department to make sure it’s legal to do so.

Roughing in and connecting utilities are the hardest parts of finishing a basement, and they’re the parts we typically don’t recommend doing as a DIY project. Unfortunately, your finishing timeline can be extended by weeks while you wait for contractors and inspectors to install electrical wiring, plumbing lines, and heating/cooling equipment and carry out inspections.

Envision the type of bar experience you'd like to create for your guests. For example:

  • Does your basement have enough finished space for bar stools or seating?

  • What type of additional lighting would set the tone for the room?

  • Are there basement windows or an HVAC system?

  • Do you need new plumbing in your basement for a proper wet bar?

  • Could you be happy with a built-in wall cabinet bar rather than a full-scale wet bar?

Making a window in a basement larger costs an average of $4,200. You’ll need to pay an average of $550 to have a structural engineer plan the project, $500 to $1,500 for the installation labor, and an average of $2,200 for the excavation and window well installation. The remainder will go toward pulling permits, installing trim, and repairing drywall on the interior.

Yes, in most cases, finishing a basement is worth the cost. The project adds valuable, usable square footage to your home and typically provides a return on investment (ROI) of 70% to 75%. For example, an average basement refinishing project costing $32,000 could add between $22,400 and $24,000 to your property's value. The final value added depends on factors like your location, the quality of materials and workmanship, and the features you include, such as a living space, bedroom, or bathroom. To be officially counted in your home's total square footage, the finished space must comply with all local building codes, including requirements for points of egress. However, in areas prone to flooding, a finished basement might be seen as a liability by potential buyers and could potentially decrease your home's value.
