"He's been the best electrician I've ever dealt with. I was extremely impressed and shocked. not only did he do a phenomenal job, but it's immaculate. There is not a little bit of wire sitting standing anywhere. He cleaned up, he was lovely, he didn't talk much, but you know, he was very busy all day because our entire electrical panel had been blown out from that storm. There are several indicators that a single-pole switch is bad: the switch is warm or hot to the touch, sparks are sometimes present when turning the switch on or off, you hear a buzzing sound or other weird noise coming from the switch, the connected light flickers when you turn on the switch, and the light doesn't turn on at all with the switch. You can make a pigtail with either thermoplastic high-heat-resistant nylon-coated (THHN) wire or non-metallic (NM) cable, often referred to as “Romex.” Each pigtail requires a neutral wire, a ground wire, and a live wire.
