"The job was quoted quickly, and the work was also done quickly. A tall hickory tree was cut down in sections by an experienced climber. This method of taking the tree down left no lawn damage, which would have happened using a bucket truck. The four man crew did a great job and left the yard cleaned up with no damage. GM 2 will be recommended to anyone I know who is looking for a tree service quote!"

"They came and removed three trees. They were efficient, knowledgeable, and productive. They did their work in a very timely manner. I requested all the wood to be removed and this was done to my satisfaction. They cut the trees as low to the ground as possible, making any attempts at hiding the stumps, possible. Watering big trees to this extent can take quite a bit of time using a hose. For this reason, you may consider installing a soaker hose or sprinkler system to make the job easier.  

The best way to protect tree roots is to avoid the roots entirely by excavating outside the root radius of the tree. For nearby projects, it’s a good idea to construct a temporary retaining wall. But that’s not always possible, depending on the project and the root system. In these cases, consider using alternative equipment like an auger to tunnel under the ground.

Remember, tree roots can damage nearby cement foundations as they grow. If a tree is close enough to interfere with large excavations, it may be better to remove the tree than risk future problems.

Using vinegar to kill tree roots is just one of the clever ways to use vinegar around the house. The method works best when you apply vinegar as directly to the root system as possible. For example, if the old tree roots and stump are currently exposed, drill holes in the tops of the roots and pour undiluted white vinegar into the holes to soak into the plant. Remember that vinegar can kill the surrounding grass and plants should it pour over the edge.

Rock salt or Epsom salt can damage and kill tree roots over several weeks and can even assist in removing the tree's stump.
