"Chris worked with us in designing the system. The neighborhood we are living in has no street lights and is very dark at night. We also want a system which is easy to maintain. He provided us a quote in a timely manner, and although his quote was the most expensive one we went with him. Installation was quick and absolutely no-mess. Chris came back to our home twice to get us the fixtures that would fit our fence posts. The outcome is very satisfactory and we are hoping the system would withstand the (projected) harsh winter ahead."

"Eddie and his company was tremendous to work with. Could not t have been easier to work with on our project. Eddie installed exterior lights and interior recessed lights in our home. He completed the work very quickly, efficiently and with very high quality. I would highly recommend using Eddie for any electrical related projects."

"Quickly organized after I purchased the Coupon. On time, very courteous. Electrician saw the new light bulbs sitting nearby and took the initiative to go ahead and switch out the old ones. what would have taken me couple of hours and several unkind words took 10 to 15 minutes."

"Costanzo electric was terrific! The estimate for the service was very reasonable considering the area and given by August the owner. He was able to come within a week and three men did the work. The men were clean and efficient and removed one fan and installed two new fans perfectly aligned. They cleaned up any mess and reviewed with me what they did and asked if I was happy. Great to find a reputable contractor and someone I can rely on going forward"

Lighting questions, answered by experts

High-quality landscape lights that are hardwired and properly maintained can last for 10 to 25 years or more. You’ll usually get a longer lifespan from soffit lights and wall-mounted lights that aren’t directly exposed to the elements or prone to damage from foot traffic or vehicle traffic. Solar-powered and battery-powered lights often won’t last as long, but you can still expect a lifespan of five to 15 years.

Options include pathway lights, spotlights, and smart lighting systems. Choose based on function and aesthetics.

Inspect for burnt-out bulbs, secure connections, and protect from water exposure to maintain functionality.

While most general electricians can repair lamps and light fixtures, it is often better to hire a lamp repair specialist. Many electricians prefer larger jobs, such as fixing electrical systems or relocating fixtures, and may not offer lamp repair services due to the small scale of the work. Additionally, some lamps, particularly antique models, require dedicated expertise that a general electrician might not have. A lamp repair specialist will be familiar with various types of fixtures and can provide a more dedicated service. If you have already hired an electrician for a larger project, you can ask them to look at your lamp, but for a standalone repair, a specialist is typically the best option.

The cost to repair a short circuit depends on the type of repair. A faulty outlet or simple loose wire can be a simple fix that might only cost a handful of dollars. For example, if you need to rewire a house, you’ll spend around $2 to $4 per square foot, but replacing an entire electrical panel costs anywhere from $500 to $2,100.
