"Installed the bathroom fan/light which wasn’t super easy, they had to crawl through insulation in the attic. Also changed out the broken switch on the outlet while they were there which was nice. Not terribly pricey"

"Chris worked with us in designing the system. The neighborhood we are living in has no street lights and is very dark at night. We also want a system which is easy to maintain. He provided us a quote in a timely manner, and although his quote was the most expensive one we went with him. Installation was quick and absolutely no-mess. Chris came back to our home twice to get us the fixtures that would fit our fence posts. The outcome is very satisfactory and we are hoping the system would withstand the (projected) harsh winter ahead."

"WOW!!! Frank, his office staff and his team are the most professional landscaping companies I have ever dealt with... not to worry your call will be answered!!! You will get an appointment and Frank or a member of his team WILL show up!! An absolute pleasure to deal with. His team of workers are profession & pleasant, even in the hottest of temps. Frank sure does know his plants and what will/will not work in your area. He is very talented & creative with his designs, thank God since I was clueless! I now LOVE driving up to my house seeing my new landscape design with their lights (which definitely are worth every penny) and just being able to take it all in. Thank you Frank & The team at Scenic View Landscaping for all their hard work in ensuring our landscaping was exactly how we pictured... it’s more!!! You guys truly are the best!"

"Dave showed up on time as discussed and completed all work in a timely manner. He found and replaced a bad switch for our pond pump and repaired/replaced all lights and switches where we were having problems. He is a professional and it was nice working with someone that treats you in a fair and honest manner. Will definitely repeat for other projects."

"Everything turned out fine. When it first arrived, it was damaged in the shipping. It took them quite a while to get something back to us, or even to call me back when I wrote to them. But then, once they got the ball rolling, it went very quickly. It took them probably about a month to even get back to me. The price was very good. Once somebody actually did speak with me, they were very responsive. They were pretty professional when I spoke to them. I just think that they were light on manpower."

Lighting questions, answered by experts

Outdoor lighting repairs typically take between 1-3 hours. The exact duration can vary depending on factors such as the complexity of the problem, the extent of the damage, and the ease of access to the lighting fixtures and wiring.

You can take a few steps to prolong the life of your holiday lights. Make sure to replace burnt-out bulbs as quickly as possible to avoid overloading the rest of the circuit and knocking out more lights. Before packing them up each year, plug each strand into the wall to confirm everything is still working. Wrap the lights carefully back into their original packaging or something similar—winding a strand tightly together or leaving it to hang loose in a storage bin can lead to frayed or damaged wiring.

While wet-rated and damp-rated lighting is designed to handle contact with moisture, there’s a difference between the two. Wet-rated lighting is safety-rated to be placed in areas with direct exposure to water, including your shower. Fixtures classed as wet-rated are made with waterproof seals to protect the filament and other electrical components from water and moisture.

Damp-rated fixtures can be used in places with some moisture contact, but not direct exposure. They don’t have the same waterproof seals used in wet-rated fixtures. Damp-rated lighting can be used on your bathroom ceiling or along a wall outside of your shower.

Before investing in motion sensor lights, there are a couple of disadvantages worth noting. For starters, they’re not as reliable as other forms of lighting. Motion sensor lights can be accidentally triggered by pets or wind, which can become a nuisance after a while. The opposite situation can occur, too, where they don’t turn on when you need them to.

Inspect for burnt-out bulbs, secure connections, and protect from water exposure to maintain functionality.
