"3 .months delay in starting project. I had to initiate phone calls as to start date. Masonry work was very poor . One could sense this was a quick fill in job and the results were apparent. Did not follow the outline in proposal of work. Did not prepare base for walkway according to code and practice. Layed cement just on dirt with no substrate. Used wrong stones not only in color but in dimension. Round stones do not function on a walkway. Poor cement adhesion and many stones were very loose. WE had to terminate project due to difficiencies with RYAN. Be aware !!"

They're often labeled as masonry screws and made of steel and a special thread that provides a strong grip. Unfortunately, concrete cracks happen, so there’s no surefire way to avoid them long-term. To slow down the cracking, apply a sealant every two to three years and use sand rather than salt to melt snow or ice. Using salt speeds up the freeze-thaw cycle, which may increase the likelihood of cracking. Concrete should be at least 4 inches thick for steps. This thickness boosts stability and prevents cracking and deterioration. After you’ve built your forms out of wood, fill the void with a sand or gravel base for concrete. Use an all-purpose concrete mix to form your steps. After pouring your concrete steps, be sure to screed and float the concrete. 

Most standard concrete patios are around 4 inches deep. However, concrete patios that need to support very heavy items, like a hot tub or outdoor kitchen, should be around 6 inches thick to support the full weight of these items. You'll also want to make sure you install rebar for patios that need to support a lot of weight like this.

You have different options depending on the scale of repair needed. If you are repairing minor cracks that are between ¼ inch to 1.5 inch wide and less than half an inch deep, a self-leveling polyurethane sealant would be your best choice. Polyurethane sealants dry to the touch within one to two hours. Since they come in a tube applier, you also have the option to complete the repair without emptying out your garage.
