Small jobs welcome

"I had a clogged sink for a few days so I used home advisor and their business came up. John called me within minutes of me completing the application. He was courteous and gave me a quote and time he would arrive. He was on time, friendly, professional and didn't mind my nervous chatter. He did an amazing job. Not only did he unclog the sink, he also pointed out to me some other things I need to get fixed. He didn't upsale me because he doesn't repair those things. I would recommend them to anyone. He also cleaned up after himself. Thanks again for your help. Lorri Vilorio Willimantic, CT"

They scheduled a tech to come out and look at the job the same day. Stefan text me to let me know when he would arrive and he got right to work. Drainworks makes the Dreamwork"

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

There are several common signs that your main sewer line may be clogged. Key indicators include multiple fixtures in your home draining slowly, gurgling sounds coming from drains or toilets, and water backing up into showers, sinks, or toilets. You might also notice water backing up from the plumbing system's drain cleanout, water in your basement drain, or unexplained wet patches on your lawn. Foul odors, such as the smell of raw sewage or rotten eggs, are another common symptom. The most reliable way to confirm a main sewer line clog is to hire a professional plumber to perform a camera inspection.

Yes, rats can come up through drains. They can crawl through basement floor drains, lateral house drains, and roof drains. Installing rat blockers in your drains is the best way to repel rats and prevent them from entering your pipes. These are one-way valves that allow water and waste to flow out but keep rats from getting in.

Snakes can occasionally enter homes through shower drains, although it’s quite rare. This can happen when they follow sewer pipes or accidentally find their way into plumbing systems. To minimize the risk, consider installing drain covers or stoppers on your shower drains. Always keep drains closed when they’re not in use, especially in areas where snakes are known to be active.

Check connections, clean fixtures, and apply finishing or protective coatings to preserve months' worth of shine and functionality.

No, you typically cannot use metal detectors to find your sewer line. Most sewer lines are made of non-metallic materials such as PVC, clay, or cast iron, which are not detectable by standard metal detectors. Metal detectors are designed to locate metallic objects, so they won't be effective for identifying the path of a non-metallic sewer line. To locate your sewer line accurately, it's best to use other methods.
