"Went well. They came out and estimated the job and then arrived when they said they would got it done. Very please with the materials and workmanship. Only reason I gave them a B for quality is that a corner fence post has warped about 3-4 inches - but I can't blame them for that."

"Very reliable, punctual, and willing to work with owner; very professional. I asked for two different types of fencing, as we were trying to figure out what would work best, Rick was very detailed in making sure I/we understood what each would entail & the cost between both. We appreciated all the time & work involved. I highly recommend this company. I'm not filling out my prices given or paid. I feel that's an invasion of my privacy."

"Quick to respond to the estimate request and also to complete the job. Had several unique concrete requests that they agreed to do, but there were not done quite as well as verbally agreed-to AND not totally completed, either. I had to buy a bag of Quickrete to fix the worse places and really should have bought 4 to complete it all to get it as was originally agreed-to. Cutting the grass near the fence will not now be as easy as I had planned - with the verbally agreed to stuff. Gate does not fully open because of bracket interferences and some adjustments could have avoided this. I made them, but now need to repaint the newly exposed surfaces. Price was a more than others, which I had justified because I expected a 100% job. The incomplete concrete work leaves us with some added dissatisfaction, but still feel we did OK with our choice of contractors."

"They did a new roof for my neighbor in about a day and a half at 147 Beecher Ave., Waterbury, Connecticut. They did a fencing job for me, they were just wonderful, I would highly recommend them, they're very efficient, very knowledgeable and did it in a timely manner, they cleaned up everything after the job and with the amount of my money I wanted to spent."

"Eli and crew did a phenomenal job! We have been trying to repair 4 sections of 6 foot privacy fence since March. We could not get anybody to commit so my wife suggested to try Angi! Personally have had bad dealings with people selected on Previous work using this app so I was reluctant at best. I got 3 quotes and an immediate response from Eli with a tentative date and pricing. We later confirmed and Eli was spot on. He showed up on time did the work required meticulously. He was very professional / down to earth and great to work with. They completed job cleaned up the area but left some temp barrier behind but not a big deal was easy to get rid of. Waiting on one post cap that we found cracked only after work was started. Would highly recommend giving them a call to see what they can do for your project ."

Gate Repair questions, answered by experts

Yes, driveway gates can help secure your home by deterring burglars from accessing your property. Climbing a gate slows down burglars while also attracting attention to your gate. If you live further down your property and want to increase security, you can also install a gate security camera that connects to your gate and monitors the area for suspicious activity.

In most cases, you will need a permit to install a new driveway or property gate. An exception might be if you are simply replacing an existing gate. Before issuing a permit, your local municipality may require a site plan or survey to verify property lines and prevent encroachment on a neighbor's property. Permits for a gate typically cost under $100. Be aware that corner properties may have additional restrictions on gate height or style. It's wise to confirm permit requirements with your local building department or your gate installation company, which can usually handle the entire permitting process for you.

This largely depends on the layout of your property and your preferred walking route to various entryways. Take your time figuring out the perfect spot for the gate to avoid difficulties later on. With all this said, the best place to put a gate is an area free from obstructions that offer the shortest route to your house.

It can cost $100 to $500 to purchase and install a gate opener. You can use ready-made kits that come with DIY instructions. If you hire a professional gate installer to handle the job, expect to pay an average of $100 per hour or between $200 and $500.

Automatic gate openers last around 10 years, but this time span depends on several external factors, like the type of gate they're attached to and how well you’ve kept up with general maintenance. Despite lasting a decade, you should still expect to complete one or two repairs in that time, as some components will fail before others.
