"This company is great at what they do. Used them twice. They helped removed asbestos tile and mold from my basement. They were quick, clean and most importantly got rid of the "bad stuff". They did such a good job the first time that I called them again when i unfortunately found mold in my crawl space. Both times eradicated all traces of mold. Would gladly use them a third time if needed!"

"They were the first to contact us back for an estimate, the first to come out (same day as we contacted them), the best price, the first to send a written contract. It took a couple weeks before we were able to negotiate with our buyers to get things settled, and they again responded immediately to our call to schedule the removal of insulation. Then they were willing to push the job back a couple days (to start Dec 30th/31st) as the closing was delayed. They completed the job, sent the air certification and did everything on schedule. Highly recommend for any project!!!"

"I wanted an old couch removed from my living room. They came when they said they would, they did the job fast and efficiently and they were very pleasant . I would certainly hire them again. I also thought that hundred dollars to remove a heavy, double reclininer couch was reasonable."

"I hired Chris Maahs and his team to remove asbestos from my home in 9/2021. He was a pleasure to work with. His team were professional, arrived on time each day, did an excellent job and finished head of schedule. I would use his company again and/or recommend them for anyone looking to have asbestos removed."

"From start to finish the crew and staff were very professional. Jimmy Holm inspected the roof and attic, thoroughly explained the products that would be used, the installation process and assisted me in acquiring the financing that would meet my needs. Jamie DePaul, project coordinator, kept me informed of the project schedule and when work could start. The project manage, AJ Meyer let me know when the crew was going to arrive and kept in touch with the crew to monitor progress. Photos were also taken during the roof removal, installation and completion. As recommended by Willy, the crew chief, that additional plywood was recommended. AJ immediately called me to discuss how I wanted to proceed. I agreed to the recommendation and work continued. I was not a surprise with the recommendation since my house is almost 60 years old. AJ also came to my house while the crew was working and upon completion. The Willyâ s crew was wonderful. They were very mindful around all of my gardens. After they had completed the clean up, you couldnâ t even tell five men had been hauling, stripping old roofing, hammering, etc.! The roof looks great. It is also quieter inside ð"

Asbestos Removal FAQs, answered by experts

Most manufacturers stopped putting asbestos in linoleum before 1980 due to public concerns about its toxicity. However, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) didn’t ban asbestos-containing products until 1989, and a comprehensive ban was not announced until 2024. This means that homes built after 1989 may still have asbestos in their flooring.

Asbestos-containing materials, like duct wrap, should be encapsulated using a sealant specifically formulated for asbestos. These sealants work to bind with asbestos fibers and help further neutralize them as a health risk. Whenever you’re working near asbestos-containing materials, be sure to keep safety as a top priority and wear a P-100-rated respirator as well as protective clothing.

Asbestos-containing materials are not easily affected by water and do not disintegrate or dissolve when exposed to it. However, porous materials can deteriorate due to water exposure, leading to the release of asbestos fibers into the air. The settling of asbestos fibers can also occur as water makes them heavy, which reduces the risk of airborne exposure, though future disturbance of the materials could cause risk. Wetting asbestos-containing materials does not constitute safe removal, and the proper handling and disposal of asbestos materials should be left to professionals.

To seal off, or encapsulate, asbestos-containing materials in your home, you’ll need to utilize a sealant specifically designed for asbestos encapsulation. These sealants bind with asbestos fibers to keep them from spreading throughout the air and causing bodily harm. In many cases, these sealants can be simply painted on, but you’ll need to wear a protective body suit as well as an asbestos-rated respirator to interact with these materials safely.

If you have an older electrical system with fraying wires and other signs of damage, removal  may be the best course of action. When asbestos begins to break down, it's more likely to become airborne, increasing the risk of health issues when it's inhaled.

However, if the system is in good condition and doesn't have visible signs of wear or damage, leaving it alone may be the safest course of action. An asbestos abatement and removal professional can help you determine the best way to proceed.
