"Doug came the very next day. We seem to have well educated Chipmunks and he is working hard too get rid of them. They destroyed out front landscaping. He is a very professional and pleasant person. He knows his business and we are sure he will rid us of these critters. I would highly recommend him."

"Within a half hour of posting on HomeAdvisor, I received a return phone call about my issue with yellow jackets nesting in the ground in my back yard. Mike was at my home the following morning to alleviate the issue. He explained that I might see a few still "hanging around", but if I had any concerns or they returned, to please call him again. I called a professional because I am severely allergic to bee/yellow jacket stings, and was not brave enough to handle the issue myself. Excellent work! Thank you."

"Both the inspector and the treatment guy were very friendly and professional. The inspector assessed our problem as an infection with fleas from a pet bird and he appeared to be right, however, the treatment guy said that he should have also checked for bedbugs. The treatment for fleas seem to have corrected our problem."

"Terminix was quick to respond and to get out here for a termite inspection, which is what we needed. However, they signed us up for pest control and said their agent would be out to care for us right away. So far haven’t seen him yet. Will give 5 stars if that turns out well."

"They came in and laid down traps, and seemed to spray some stuff outside the 1st time. After that the guy would come and act like he did something and then send a bill. There were times we were home and no one rang the bell and the traps were supposed to be put down inside for spiders. It was a waste of time. My husband decided to buy the stuff from store and treat it ourselves. The spiders were minimized, but what they did we could of did for less money."

Bird Control questions, answered by experts

DIY removal of birds or bats is not recommended due to safety risks and potential legal protections for certain species. While simple prevention methods can be done yourself, actual removal and control of an infestation should be handled by professionals who are familiar with safe, humane, and effective techniques.

When it comes to keeping birds from doing their business on your porch rails, you have several DIY options and home remedies you can try:

  • Tie a fishing line from one end of the deck post to the other. Birds won’t be able to see the line across the railing, so they can’t land on it.

  • Hang wind chimes close by, which may scare birds away.

  • Apply a bird gel repellent to the railings, which contains smells that birds generally don’t like. Or, similarly, you can apply citronella or lemon oil around the railings, since birds don’t like strong smells.

To keep animals out, you must prevent them from entering. As long as they can get in, the problem will persist. That said, consider making your attic less inviting using deterrents like motion-activated lights or ultrasonic devices. Additionally, keeping a well-maintained, clean, and uncluttered attic that you regularly inspect for activity may make the space less attractive to critters.

Natural swimming pools are designed to deter pests, including mosquitoes. While any body of water can potentially attract pests, the natural filtration system keeps the water clean and constantly moving. Mosquitoes specifically are attracted to standing water, so the continuously circulating water in a natural pool makes it an inhospitable environment for them.

There are DIY methods and store-bought pesticides available for the public to use. However, these pesticides also come with a risk, and you need to follow the directions correctly and take precautionary measures to prevent exposure to these chemicals. These methods may be an option for small pest problems, but you should call in a pest control specialist for persistent pests and infestations.
