"The owner, Rebekah, visited my home personally, delivered the quote during the 1st visit, and performed the work one week later. The work was far superior to other asphalt recoating we had performed previously that had to be redone due to subsequent damage. The new work exceeded our high expectations, and was personally supervised by Rebekah, the owner. The work crew was professional, careful, and courteous. There was no overspray or effect on surrounding rocks, patio, or landscaping. The only reason that the work quality rating was slightly reduced as some of the crack fillings are visible to a moderate degree. But perhaps it was not possible to do better as a another company one year ago did a poor job of repairing cracks on the same driveway."

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

Yes, a paved or repaved driveway can boost your home's value by increasing its curb appeal and the functionality of your outdoor space. A new driveway can add anywhere from $5,000 to $20,000 to a property's value. An old, crumbling driveway can be a red flag for potential buyers and inspectors.

The amount of value added depends on the materials used, the design, and local market conditions. Concrete is often cited as adding the most value due to its long lifespan, though asphalt may be more desirable in colder climates. The return on investment is greatest when replacing a driveway that is in poor condition; repaving a driveway that is already in good shape will not yield as significant an increase in value.

Yes, permeable paving is expensive. For driveways, expect to pay up to $70 per square foot; for patios, permeable paving can cost up to $30 per square foot. Costs will depend on the type of material you choose, plus the standard labor rate in your area.

Costs range from $3 to $7 per square foot, depending on the area size and project scope.

An example of permeable paving is a set of cinder blocks or natural stone pavers with room inside for natural materials, such as gravel, sand, or grass. You can also design these pavers with brick or plastic tiles.

In addition to these pavers, permeable pavement can be obtained by using a highly porous material, such as pervious concrete or pervious asphalt.

Decomposed granite and caliche can both harden into a solid surface using a plate compactor. However, due to decomposed granite’s fine particles, it’s not suitable for driveway surfaces. Some homeowners use pea gravel mixed with a gravel-binding resin to bind the loose stones and create a solid surface that won’t shift like loose gravel.
