"Both my husband and I enjoyed working with Luke. He took time to listen to what we wanted and answer questions. He even provided information that helped settle a bit of confusion we had about placement of the fence. He built the fence to be super durable against kids and kept the safety of both our children and pet in mind during the construction. I do plan on using them in the future for further home repair/renovation."

"Juan helped me with a few projects I needed help with around the house, including installing a dimmer switch, replacing trim around a door, and painting some baseboards. Juan was very professional and courteous, and all of the work was done quickly and everything turned out great!"

"Steve was wonderful to work with. He was fair and honest about a lot of the home projects we needed to get done. In fact, he went above and beyond the other contractors we had come out to give us a quote. There was one window that we needed to be caulked since we noticed water coming through. He tested to see what the moisture level was and notified me that there is a high chance of mold in the walls. This was concerning to us since we didn't anticipate this but we knew it needed to be taken care of. They managed the project well. We also had them replace a few of the door frames due to wood rot, fix the gaps in mortar, replace the storm door closer, etc. He came on time, was responsive, and checked in with me every so often. He even came back a day later since we had some concerns with something he worked on and was patient with us throughout the process."

"Hired a professional to install 2 hand rails for my parents. One was installed on the front porch brick steps and one on the back porch brick steps. They arrived on time, installed both handrails quickly and safely. Handrails are sturdy, and now my parents lives are that much safer. Would recommend."

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

While your forced heating system runs, it can pick up dirt, dust, hair, and other particles from inside your house. Changing your furnace filters regularly is key to preventing this debris from getting stuck in your ducts and swirling around your home. With some types of furnaces, there’s also the potential for carbon monoxide leaks. However, staying up-to-date with your HVAC inspections and installing carbon monoxide sensors can help mitigate this risk.

Yes, you should seal and cap an unused chimney to protect it from damage. Sealing the structure helps prevent moisture damage, which can lead to issues like cracks, spalling, efflorescence, and damaged mortar joints. Capping the chimney is also crucial to prevent blockages, damage from invasive critters, and downdrafts, while still allowing for proper air ventilation to manage moisture. For the best results, consult a chimney professional to select the right type of chimney or flue cap for your home. It's also wise to continue with annual chimney inspections to maintain the structure's integrity.

Chimneys should either be sealed or waterproofed, which is different from sealing off—closing at both ends—a chimney. Waterproofing and sealing are both crucial steps to take to prevent water damage and the chimney leaking inside the house. While waterproofing is more comprehensive, both help safeguard your chimney, extending its life span and preventing expensive repairs.

Home insurance prices depend on where you live and the individual insurance company's policies. Some insurers charge a flat fee for fireplaces or wood-burning stoves, which is often a few hundred dollars per year. Other insurers base this fee on a percentage of your annual premium. You may want to check your current or prospective policy before beginning this project.

If a light switch is off, it’s very unlikely to cause a fire. For a fire to start, the switch has to be on, activating an electrical current, and the wiring must be faulty. However, the malfunctioning light switch could cause an intermittent current to move across the electrical wire. This issue could become a fire hazard with another device connected to the wire. You should replace the bad light switch as soon as you notice it or call an electrician.
