"Victor is a top professional. His assistant Leon was right along helping. We had carpet stretched in the living room and it looks great. Pad was replaced a d carpet stretched on the basement landing from pipe breaking. They were on time, friendly, and asked me to look at their work before leaving. I would hire them anytime!"

"Ryan and his assistant did an excellent job on repairing our carpet. Our cats damaged our carpet in several rooms. Ryan was able to use the original carpet to patch the damage. It looked like new after he finished. The tiler that did our house left large gaps between the transition of tile to carpet. Ryan's assistant was able to place new tack strips closer to correctly transition the carpet to tile. It looks great."

"Colossal Carpet Care recently completed a carpet stretch and cleaning at my townhome. Dwayne did a wonderful job. He was prompt, courteous and professional. The pricing was reasonable and the results terrific! The carpet stretching was for carpet that was laid a little over two years ago and began stretching immediately. Another firm I hired to stretch the carpet did not do a good job and the stretching continued. Dwayne explained everything he was going to do to fix the stretching issue and it now looks great! Thank you so much, Dwayne and Colossal Carpet Care! I will be a repeat customer!!"

Carpet Stretching questions, answered by experts

No, it works best under synthetic carpets in high-traffic or moisture-prone areas. Avoid using moisture barrier padding under natural fiber carpets like wool, which need air circulation. The barrier can trap the moisture against natural fibers and cause problems. Also, you can skip it in low-risk areas like upstairs guest bedrooms, where the extra protection often isn't worth the added cost.

Regular vacuuming is essential in homes with animals and children to remove pet hair, dirt, and debris from the carpet's surface. Additionally, prompt cleaning of spills and accidents can prevent stains from setting in. Consider using carpet protectors or area rugs in high-traffic areas to minimize wear and tear on your new carpeting.

There could be several reasons why your carpet padding has adhered to the floor. Some of the most common reasons include:

  • There was intentional gluing or stapling to the surface.

  • The polyurethane and floor bonded over years of wear.

  • Pet urine, spills, or other substances leaked through the carpet and created a sticky surface.

If the carpeting in the home has not been changed in a long time, clearing off the padding underneath could be difficult. Pet urine can wreak havoc on carpeting and the flooring underneath. If you plan to reinstall carpeting, remember to use proper cleaning techniques for removing pet urine odors to prevent future problems.

Yes, carpets should be replaced after a house fire or significant smoke damage, even if they appear undamaged. Smoke, soot, particulates, and chemicals can penetrate deep into the carpet fibers and padding, making complete removal a complicated and time-consuming process. If water was used to extinguish the fire, it can also soak through the carpet and padding, creating a risk of mold and mildew growth. Due to these challenges and potential health risks, replacing the carpet is the safest and most effective solution.

You can expect your carpet protection to last about six months to two years. It will last longer in low-traffic areas (compared to busy areas, where your carpet experiences more wear and tear). Once the protector wears off, you’ll need to call your carpet contractor to reapply the stain protection treatment and revive your carpet
