"Very impressed with this team. They did four hours of work in just one hour. We have a new puppy and have struggled to control his dander--constantly sweeping and dusting but never quite getting all the stray fur balls lurking in corners and under couches. The crew, however, got our Pergo floors absolutely spotless! My stainless appliances were sparkling, microwave was scrubbed to a glow, the sliding glass door was crystal clear (puppy paw and nose prints gone), and even our vertical blinds were dusted and polished. The master bath also got some serious TLC...the tub is calling my name.

It was so refreshing to walk into a clean house despite our messy little puppy and teenage boys. As a mom who works full-time outside the home, it just makes sense to let professionals do a much more thorough job in a quarter of the time. I'm very grateful for their expertise in home maintenance. We will definitely use this service again.

Floor Polishers questions, answered by experts

Yes, a magic eraser can remove candle wax. You can use it to remove all the candle wax from start to finish. Another option is to remove all large clumps with a dull knife and then pull out your magic eraser to finish the job. However, while the results can be impressive, a magic eraser shouldn’t be used on all surfaces since it can potentially damage them. If you try this method, test a small, hidden spot first and proceed cautiously.

Before starting on a full refinishing project, determine if your floors need to be completely sanded down to the bare wood or if the damage is shallow and mostly cosmetic. Deep scratches and gouges will require you to rough sand using a drum sander or belt sander, but small surface scratches or floors that have only lost their luster don’t need a complete overhaul. Instead, you can skip the rough sanding step and sand-screen the old finish with a buffer, removing only the top layer of polyurethane.

You can embrace minimalism when it comes to cleaning vinyl plank flooring. Water or diluted vinegar both work great for mopping and are much better options than some other cleaners that can damage the protective coating on these floors. Ammonia or solvent-based polishes can both break down the top layer. Also, avoid “mop-and-shine” cleaners, which tend to leave behind residue on vinyl plank floors.

To maintain wood floors, sweep them regularly and mop using wood-safe cleaners. To protect the floors from wear and extend their lifespan, you should apply a sealant periodically and refinish them when needed.

Vinegar is an excellent cleaner for vinyl flooring and won’t ruin the material. Mopping the floor with a cup of vinegar diluted in a gallon of warm water can make it sparkle.
