"R&R Brothers did an excellent job all three times I hired them. They are professional, detail oriented and easy to work with. They painted the exterior of my residence 4 years ago and it still looks fresh. They did a pre-inspection for any rotted boards and replaced them prior to painting. I had them paint the exterior of my rental and it looks beautiful! They also painted the new baseboards and trim work in my house; it looks great with crisp clean lines. I highly recommend R&R Brothers!"

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

The two most common reasons wallpaper does not stick are a lack of preparation and improper adhesive. Be sure to use the wallpaper paste designed for the type of paper you choose. Before beginning your project, make sure the walls are clean and free of dust, grease, and oils.

Many types of wallpaper exist, from removable peel-and-stick options to more permanent options that involve pasting. You can also find wallpaper that you can paint over, wallpaper with a texture, and wallpaper made from various materials, such as vinyl. Some types of wallpaper are washable, which can be a great option for kitchens or if your household has small children.

If you prefer peel-and-stick to traditional wallpaper, you can skip the priming process. Many manufacturers don't require an additional primer if you’re installing peel-and-stick wallpaper to painted walls. However, if you’re applying peel-and-stick wallpaper to unfinished drywall, you’ll need to apply a primer first.

The color of the paint, its opacity, and the depth of the texture on the paper all affect how many coats of paint you need to apply to paintable wallpaper. You'll need at least two coats of paint to ensure even coverage. Don’t be surprised if you need to apply three coats if the embossing is very deep or if you use a dark color.

Wall panels offer functional and aesthetic benefits. From a practical standpoint, panels can improve your home's insulation and energy efficiency, especially if you opt for solid wood panels. They can also help protect your existing wall.

Aesthetically, wall panels have a knack for adding dynamic texture, warmth, and sophistication to a room. And thanks to their many different shapes, sizes, and styles, wall panels can elevate a wide variety of home designs.

Finally, it’s relatively easy to cover wall panels, so you have some flexibility if you end up not liking the look over time.
