Customers say: Quality work
45 years of experience

I'm Davitt M. Armstrong -- "jack-of-all-trades and Master of One"; with a Master Plumber's License here in the great State of Colorado. I'm engaged in highly custom plumbing and hydronic heating applications for discerning clients; with thirty-five years of highly pleased customers. I also provide utterly unbiased and extremely comprehensive home inspection services for buyers and sellers, for a select group of local real estate agents.

"Davitt was out within a couple of hours of calling. He is a really great guy. I do a lot of my own repairs, but after doing a bunch of troubleshooting on the in floor system, I knew it was time for a pro. He took time to work through explaining the system to me as this was the first house we have had an integrated furnace, water heater and flooring heat. It turns out he was the sub on the original 2015 construction. The issue was a bad control panel that operate the zone valves and furnace. Rather than go get the parts himself and incur more costs, he allowed me to go get the parts for him. That allowed him to spend the time pulling the old unit out. One thermostat needed replaced in addition which I did while he was putting the new control panel in. Yep, just see how many contractors would work with you to save costs by you working with them. He also provided the contact info for the other original subs on the house which is awesome info. The parts costs were very reasonable. They could have been easily inflated to double the material line item amount as control panels are typically very expensive components to any specialized system. To address the D rating review. You should have told him this was an insurance claim in the first place. Good luck getting folks to give you itemized materials list. Would you expect a carpenter to give you a materials list on every size board, nail and screw. Your expectations were unrealistic. After all this was supposedly an insurance claim. They are the ones to take it up with unless you were trying to pocket the difference. We are planning to construct another building on the property and will be strongly supporting Davitt as the sub for plumbing and heating."

Gas Leak Repair questions, answered by experts

While the line can't be removed, a pro can place a cap on the end to stop leaks. Contact a pro for a service call and speak with them about the related costs of either capping or removing the line altogether. Capping a gas line will cost between $75 and $150 while removing it will start at $250.

Modern gas fireplaces are relatively efficient and don't burn excessive amounts of gas, especially compared to older models. A gas fireplace might use between 10,000 to 40,000 BTUs per hour; the total amount of gas used depends on the fireplace's size, heat output, and how often it's in use. To help keep your running costs down, consider using a thermostat and turning off the fireplace when not needed to minimize gas consumption

Some people don’t like the look of gas fireplaces since they don’t offer the classic charm or appeal of a wood-burning fire. Plus, gas fireplace installation is more expensive than other types of fireplace installations due to the added complexity of working with gas lines. There’s also a chance that gas could get into your home, which is a major health and safety risk.

Local codes often mandate specific fittings, permits, and vent considerations for permitted function and safety, which are enforced by professionals.

You should have a licensed plumber to install a gas line for your new gas fireplace. As experts in all things natural gas, these professionals understand how to work with gas safely to avoid explosions, leaks, and other potentially hazardous situations. They also know how to handle the other aspects of the process, including pulling permits, digging trenches, and connecting new gas lines to old lines.
