"Corey was very good to work with and conscientious about his and his crew's work. We had some complications with timing and completing the project with Planet. Corey was busy but was attentive and helpful in working with other contractors. I have, and would, recommend Planet for their services in the Durango area."

"The work was done beautifully. It took longer than expected because they had to install new insulation and plywood to this older home before they could do the siding, but they were more than capable of doing that. Sometimes the whole crew was not there on certain days, but Andre and John continued the hard work."

"Willie and Brandon did an excellent job excavating a trench for a gas line at our current home. They were quick to bid, communicated with us throughout the process, and were easy to get a hold of when we needed to make adjustments. We are very pleased with their quality of work, and hope to use them for future projects. Box T is an excellent, locally owned and family-run businessâ ¦hire them!"

Depending on project size, typically 1 to 3 days, including preparation and installation.

Your city or county will have guidelines about the minimum and maximum width and length of private roads. The average private road is 12 feet wide, and length, of course, depends on your property. Requirements also depend on the amount of traffic and types of vehicles your road experiences. Check with local ordinances before planning a road on your property.

Yes, you can put thin pavers over a concrete driveway. However, it's always best to talk to a driveway installer before starting. You'll need to ensure that the concrete below is in good enough shape to hold the pavers and that the driveway will still meet local building codes.

While blacktop is a type of asphalt, the terms should not be used interchangeably, as not all asphalt qualifies as blacktop. The primary differences are in their composition, production process, and ideal applications. Blacktop contains more stone than other types of asphalt and is heated to a higher temperature during production—300°F or more—while hot-mix asphalt is heated to between 275°F and 300°F. The ratio of bitumen (a tar-like crude oil) is a key differentiator, though sources vary: some state blacktop has less bitumen, making it less durable, while others claim it has a higher ratio. Due to these differences, asphalt is generally more durable and better for high-traffic areas like highways and streets, while blacktop is more suitable for playgrounds and residential driveways. For a driveway project, it is best to consult a professional to determine the most appropriate material.

Asphalt and tarmac are not the same thing. Traditional tarmac, short for tarmacadam, uses tar as a binder to hold crushed stone together. Asphalt uses bitumen—a byproduct of crude oil—to bind aggregate. Though tarmac was once a go-to for roads, asphalt has become the modern standard. And these days, most surfaces referred to as “tarmac” are actually asphalt. So, while the names may overlap, the key distinction lies in the binder—tar for tarmac and bitumen for asphalt.
