"within minutes, I received a call from the very friendly and professional Michelle. Calling me all the way from California! Michelle explained the services she could and could not offer in terms of my needed furniture repair. And while she cannot help me specifically with my furniture issue, she offered a very generous solution: she is going to send me leather dye for the scratched ottoman and talk me through the repair, should I need help! Michelle also explained that she deals with customers all over the country, in need of leather and purse and clothing repair, cleaning, and restoration. Based on my extremely positive experience with Michelle, I will be sure to call her in the future when I need help with fur, leather or suede goods!!!"

"The technicians were friendly, punctual, and explained the process very well. They start by locating all the vents and air returns in your home and then provide you with a revised estimate of cost based on vents that are "difficult to remove". This is clearly specified in the Angie's list offer, so I expected it. Basically, any vent or return that is screwed in to a painted wall or ceiling will incur and additional per vent charge of $10 in my case. This added $150 to the cost of the service. I scored the overall service and quality as a "C" because I'm not confident the procedure completely cleans or reaches your entire ventilation system. What they do is cover your vent with a plexiglass cover that has a hole for a vacuum hose and a hole for a compressed air line. The tech drops the compressed air line into your vent and it drops as far as gravity can take it or to the first tight turn, which from what I could see was 5 to 6 feet in. Ten the tech turns on the compressed air and slowly pulls the air hose back up through the vent bringing with it all the dust and debris which is pulled out by the vacuum hose. While there was clearly a lot of dirt, dust, debris removed, the limitations of the compressed air hose reach is likely a problem, not to mention any of the dirt and dust that would be blown on the other direction to far from the draw of the vacuum. In the future, I'll explore other methods.

Couch Cleaning Services questions, answered by experts

No, running your furnace without an air filter isn’t better than running it with a dirty filter. Even if it’s dirty, a filter will still prevent particles from blowing around your ducts and your house. However, neither of these options is good for your furnace or your health. Replace your filter once every one to three months for optimal furnace performance and air quality.

Washing your carbon filter can damage the fibers and make it less effective. While removing the dust from the filter gently is possible, we don’t recommend you wash and reuse the filters once they have reached the end of their lifespan.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), no single water filter or treatment system can remove 100% of contaminants. To find the best filter for your needs, first determine which impurities are most important for you to remove. For example, reverse osmosis (RO) filters are highly effective at removing a wide range of contaminants, including sediment, heavy metals, bacteria, viruses, dissolved salts, and chemicals. However, the RO process can also filter out beneficial minerals like calcium and magnesium. If eliminating bacteria is your main priority, a UV filter could be a suitable choice. Additionally, distilled water is considered the most pure form of filtered water available.

Sometimes, you can clean an HVAC filter rather than replace it. If you have a washable filter, also known as a permanent or semi-permanent HVAC filter, wash the filter once per month. However, if you have filters that are not labeled as washable, do not attempt to clean them and reuse them. Many HVAC filters are disposable, and you’ll need to buy a whole new filter to replace dirty disposable filters.

Keeping your air filter clean is crucial for your heat pump's efficiency. As a general rule, you should check your air filter every 1 to 3 months. However, the actual frequency might vary depending on factors like the type of filter, indoor air quality, and the amount of dust and debris in your area. If you notice the filter is visibly dirty or clogged, it's a clear sign it needs attention sooner. Regular filter maintenance ensures proper airflow and helps your heat pump perform optimally, keeping your indoor air fresh and comfortable.
