Residential and business water treatment systems. Water softeners, UV lights. We will analyze your water for contaminants such as chlorine, low pH, iron, bacteria, and devise a system to suit your needs. Treat your water from the source, as it enters your home, so whether you are drinking it, cooking with it or bathing in it, your water is pure.

"The process was quick and easy. I just provided a water sample. It was determined that I had high levels of chlorine in our drinking water. I was able to solve my water problems with only one filter. Why did I wait years to have this done? Now I can be confident that our water is safe. Highly recommended."

"Don't EVER use Bishop Plumbing. We had them come clear a backup issue a few weeks ago and haven't used the plumbing since (we haven't been here). We paid over $500 for this and our plumbing just backed up on us. They then declined coming out for service when I expressed frustration that the issue wasn't fixed after paying $588 to fix the issue. I never once said I wasn't going to pay, I just didn't think we should have to pay full freight when we just paid for the issue to be fixed and it wasn't. I merely said, let's figure out the issue and go from there, we will pay to figure out the issue. Clearly, they don't stand behind their work or are competent enough to fix any issues beyond a clogged toilet. A total scam - I have never experienced something like this ever."

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

The most accurate way to determine whether you have hard water is to purchase a water test kit from a hardware store or send a tap water sample to a lab. But there are some signs you can look out for without professional testing. For instance, if you're consistently dealing with mineral stains on your glassware, windows, and shower doors, you're likely to have hard water. Hard water can also make it harder to lather and rinse soap, so if you're struggling to work up a good lather in the shower, hard water might be the culprit.

You can install a water softener system by turning off the water supply, draining the water, and then connecting your device to the waterline. Next, you’ll fill your tank with the recommended amount of salt or brine (whichever your unit calls for; be sure to read the instructions). Turn the water supply on and check for leaks. You can opt to let your water run for a few minutes, then test it using strips.

The process of inspecting your water softener system is similar.

It’s sometimes possible to install a water softener yourself, but it’s usually better to hire a water softener professional to get the job done. Water softeners involve plumbing and electrical work, which usually require permits and a certified expert to sign off on the work. Not only is it dangerous to work with these utility lines, but it’s also not legal in many areas. Plus, improper installation or system sizing might not fix your hard water issue and could lead to an increased risk of leaks, fires, and other property damage.

While it depends on how complicated the unit and installation is, it takes two to four hours to install a water softener unit, on average. It might take longer if pipes need to be replaced. You should make sure the installation area is clear of any objects that might get in the way before you begin.

Hard water isn’t unhealthy. It’s safe to drink, bathe in, and cook with. However, it can make some skin, hair, and scalp problems, such as eczema, worse by affecting the pH balance of your skin and hair. Additionally, some people don’t like the taste of hard water, but it does contain minerals that are important to your overall health, like calcium.
