52 years of experience

TruGreen has been in the lawn care business for more than 40 years. Over that time, we have gained the depth of experience necessary to offer specialized services to a range of business types. Whether you're looking for a green lawn, beautiful trees, and shrubs, or if you require more specialized care, we offer guaranteed services designed to suit your needs.

"I received a phone call from a TruGreen technician within seconds of hitting the send button to Angies List. I had to keep asking the technician to repeat what he said since he did not speak into the phone or clearly. I kept asked for pricing on lawn aeration, I did not have a chance to give him the size of my lawn; he kept pushing for other services, after asking a few times for pricing on aeration only; he then quoted me $398! I don't what kind of fees you charge but this is gouging, when I pushed back he then said $203, so all of sudden it's half the price. I kept attempting to give the lawn footage but he kept interrupting and talking over me, given I have a large lot and I do not need my full lot aerated. I asked if he would be willing come and view the area - he was rude in his response and said that "this is not how we do business" Well, this is not how I do business either, why would I hire your company for any services after being spoken to so rudely. I used TruGreen last year, at first I was very pleased, but as the season continued I had to call and frequently request lawn fertilizing. I was told you did not have time, and then promised service would occur the following week, which also did not happen and no one would come, or I was given less than 12 hours notice, waiting the next morning for the technician and still no one showed up, also another time the technician began fertilizing my neighbors yard, lucky for them. I am just glad I did not sign up for any contracts and canceled all future lawn applications at the end of summer 2019."

Long standing landscaping company with over 20 years experience in high altitude planting and lawn care. We are a full service/family landscaping business with 20 + on our staff. We pride our business on our customer service.

"To whom it may concern, Hood Landscaping just finished the 2nd part of a large landscaping project for us. Part 1 was completed in May of 2014. They were selected over several other contractors based on their thoughtful design in solving some drainage issues and the quality materials they proposed. They weren’t the lowest bidder. We were so pleased with the outcome, there was no question as to who would be used to complete part 2. Part 2 is now finished and the results are spectacular! An enormous Siloam staircase and flower planters now grace the side of our home heading up the hillside. Drivers stop on the street to see it. Our neighbors have complimented us on how beautiful it is and how well it blends with our existing boulder retaining wall planters. It enhances what was already there. The design now looks “complete”. One of the things that we find most impressive about Ed & Molly’s company is the character of their employees. On project #1, Ryan led a team of dedicated individuals installing a huge paver pad patio integrated with an underground drainage system. They also built a smaller Siloam staircase to our upper yard. Project #2 was led by Zach with an equally skilled and caring team. Zach was quick to suggest worthwhile modifications and incorporate our ideas as the project progressed. Once you see things “coming out of the ground”, you see ways to improve the end result. Zach has a keen eye for this and adjusts the final product to come up with the best result possible. In both projects, Hood employees were courteous and respectful. They show up on time. They do more than is expected and clean up the work site each day. This reflects well on the overall management of the company as a business that is built for the long term. They aren’t a few guys and a truck with a backhoe. This is a Summit County contractor that will do what they promise and stand behind their work. A small problem appeared this winter with our paver pad constructed in 2014. Ed had his guys address the issue while they were here for part #2. Again this speaks to “building a business” and not just a short term outlook. We can’t speak highly enough of Hood Landscaping and the team that Ed & Molly have assembled. They are the only landscape company we would consider for whatever our future needs may be. Turf Master Sod Farm is a family owned and operated Sod production business with locations in Colorado and Wyoming. We take pride in offering you a wide variety of Low water use specialty grasses as well as bluegrass and fescues. Turf Master is especially proud of the custom blends we’ve created to thrive in our harsh, arid climate. We are honored to have served both residential and commercial clients in Colorado, Wyoming, western Nebraska, eastern Utah, southern Montana and the Dakotas for over 40 years and look forward to continuing to serve our community by providing high quality, environmentally friendly sod for generations to come. Wyoming Location: 324 Ayers Rd. Wheatland, WY 82201; (866) 493-8311

"The services, from the sales rep Frank, (who cussed in front of my 3 year old, failed to respond to messages and walked off the job), to the unresponsive management and unreturned phone calls after an incomplete job leaves us without thousands of dollars and a horrible looking lawn. They did not finish the job nor offer to remediate, only stating we were “confrontational” after asking what they would do to fix the problems. Even if that was true (which it is not), the job we paid for is still not completed, confrontations or not, and that is what we paid for. New sod, not their opinions on how we handles our unhappiness with their lack of professionalism. They left an unfinished job with 100% of our money up front. They even broke our fence! Take it from us, do not do business with anyone who asks for all up front if the job isn’t complete. Sod was left out in sun on a pallet in 100 degree heat for 5+ hours dying before it was started to be installed, the ground was not properly prepped, and weeds and grass are now growing from underneath the new sod laid. They laid the sod in the wrong places. They left a mess, were unprofessional, disrespectful, and sadly did not operate in a Christian manner. We are having another local landscaper have to fix the problems, and they are shocked at the way our lawn was left by this company. Save your money and do business elsewhere. I guess turf masters does not care to help their customers. BBB will hear from us, as will Secretary of State and beyond. We are just shocked this is the way they operate."

Lawn Fertilization and Treatment questions, answered by experts

If it’s been a few weeks and you haven’t seen anything pop up, double-check your seed packet and make sure you didn’t miss any steps. Did they need cold stratification (putting seeds in the freezer and then transferring to water before planting)? Do they have an exceptionally long germination period?

If you’ve followed all of the directions closely, you may just have had a bad batch of seeds. (Sadly, it happens.)

The decision of whether or not to let moss grow in your yard depends on your preference. Moss is a lower-maintenance alternative to grass that looks green and lush but doesn’t require irrigation, fertilization, or mowing. Unlike grass, moss doesn’t attract pests, so it can keep your yard free from bugs as well. However, moss won’t stand up to heavy foot traffic as well as turfgrass.

The quickest way to kill weeds is to burn them, pour boiling water on them, or pull them out by hand. Each of these methods works instantaneously. Beyond that, using vinegar for grass works in a couple of hours, as do herbicides you can buy at the store. The slowest way to kill weeds is to starve them of nutrients and sunlight with mulch or fabric covers.

If you notice your grass is growing quickly and it’s hard to keep up, cut down on how much you water and fertilize it. Another helpful method is to mow the grass at the highest setting your mower will allow. Mowing at a higher setting slows grass growth since the blades won’t need to repair themselves as quickly if they’re kept at a longer length.

A lawn that suddenly and quickly turns yellow is typically the result of a dramatic change in the grass's environment. Heavy rainfall can dilute soil nutrients, rapidly yellowing the grass, and dull lawn mower blades can dry out and damage the grass in a short time. Over-fertilizing can yellow a lawn within a matter of days.
