52 years of experience

TruGreen has been in the lawn care business for more than 40 years. Over that time, we have gained the depth of experience necessary to offer specialized services to a range of business types. Whether you're looking for a green lawn, beautiful trees, and shrubs, or if you require more specialized care, we offer guaranteed services designed to suit your needs.

"I received a phone call from a TruGreen technician within seconds of hitting the send button to Angies List. I had to keep asking the technician to repeat what he said since he did not speak into the phone or clearly. I kept asked for pricing on lawn aeration, I did not have a chance to give him the size of my lawn; he kept pushing for other services, after asking a few times for pricing on aeration only; he then quoted me $398! I don't what kind of fees you charge but this is gouging, when I pushed back he then said $203, so all of sudden it's half the price. I kept attempting to give the lawn footage but he kept interrupting and talking over me, given I have a large lot and I do not need my full lot aerated. I asked if he would be willing come and view the area - he was rude in his response and said that "this is not how we do business" Well, this is not how I do business either, why would I hire your company for any services after being spoken to so rudely. I used TruGreen last year, at first I was very pleased, but as the season continued I had to call and frequently request lawn fertilizing. I was told you did not have time, and then promised service would occur the following week, which also did not happen and no one would come, or I was given less than 12 hours notice, waiting the next morning for the technician and still no one showed up, also another time the technician began fertilizing my neighbors yard, lucky for them. I am just glad I did not sign up for any contracts and canceled all future lawn applications at the end of summer 2019."

Long standing landscaping company with over 20 years experience in high altitude planting and lawn care. We are a full service/family landscaping business with 20 + on our staff. We pride our business on our customer service.

"To whom it may concern, Hood Landscaping just finished the 2nd part of a large landscaping project for us. Part 1 was completed in May of 2014. They were selected over several other contractors based on their thoughtful design in solving some drainage issues and the quality materials they proposed. They weren’t the lowest bidder. We were so pleased with the outcome, there was no question as to who would be used to complete part 2. Part 2 is now finished and the results are spectacular! An enormous Siloam staircase and flower planters now grace the side of our home heading up the hillside. Drivers stop on the street to see it. Our neighbors have complimented us on how beautiful it is and how well it blends with our existing boulder retaining wall planters. It enhances what was already there. The design now looks “complete”. One of the things that we find most impressive about Ed & Molly’s company is the character of their employees. On project #1, Ryan led a team of dedicated individuals installing a huge paver pad patio integrated with an underground drainage system. They also built a smaller Siloam staircase to our upper yard. Project #2 was led by Zach with an equally skilled and caring team. Zach was quick to suggest worthwhile modifications and incorporate our ideas as the project progressed. Once you see things “coming out of the ground”, you see ways to improve the end result. Zach has a keen eye for this and adjusts the final product to come up with the best result possible. In both projects, Hood employees were courteous and respectful. They show up on time. They do more than is expected and clean up the work site each day. This reflects well on the overall management of the company as a business that is built for the long term. They aren’t a few guys and a truck with a backhoe. This is a Summit County contractor that will do what they promise and stand behind their work. A small problem appeared this winter with our paver pad constructed in 2014. Ed had his guys address the issue while they were here for part #2. Again this speaks to “building a business” and not just a short term outlook. We can’t speak highly enough of Hood Landscaping and the team that Ed & Molly have assembled. They are the only landscape company we would consider for whatever our future needs may be. Lawn Fertilization and Treatment questions, answered by experts

The decision of whether or not to let moss grow in your yard depends on your preference. Moss is a lower-maintenance alternative to grass that looks green and lush but doesn’t require irrigation, fertilization, or mowing. Unlike grass, moss doesn’t attract pests, so it can keep your yard free from bugs as well. However, moss won’t stand up to heavy foot traffic as well as turfgrass.

A quick search online may recommend that you give your dog apple cider vinegar to help decrease the pH level of your dog’s urine. This method won’t help your yard, though. Most turf grasses thrive on slightly acidic soil, so apple cider vinegar won’t make much of a difference.

The main cause of grass death by dog urine isn’t the pH level anyway—it’s usually the excessive amount of nitrogen that kills your grass.

Yes, it’s always a good idea to fertilize your lawn before a major leveling project. This step gives your grass the nutrients necessary for healthy growth, helping it recover and replenish itself faster. However, you should do this at least three weeks in advance, as the leveling process can disturb the newly-applied fertilizer.

Water the lawn thoroughly, apply fertilizer, and overseed if necessary to promote healthy growth.

Very carefully. You should be cautious when using any of the above methods, as any one of them could lead to you accidentally killing desired grasses and plants. However, there are selective herbicides that can target certain plants over others. Look for a product that only affects the type of weeds you want to eliminate and spares the plants you want to keep.
