Rush Security and Alarm is your Home and Building Security Professionals! Serving the Colorado Springs and surrounding areas we offer protection for your home and business. We pride ourselves with quality service. We proudly service the Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico and Wyoming areas.

"Working with Rush security has been highly disappointing and mediocre at best. We had multiple missed appointments with their technician until I put my foot down and said I'd cancel service if they did not show up. He started to show up after that, but just for a couple days and in my opinion still did subpar work. At first, the alarm system would not register away, only "stay". Then the doorbell camera was constantly ringing even when no one was there. The motion detector also does not work. Next, we paid $400 for equipment and a $75 monthly monitoring. I wish I would just gone with Ring because they are cheaper but I wanted to support local. When we asked to cancel we were told we'd have to pay a 1400 cancellation fee to recoup the loss of having an electrician come out and for the 'low' $75 monitoring and to buyout the contract. Initially, we were told they offered no contract service, which was the only reason we went with them. I did the math and that 1400 fee would total out to about 1.5 years of subpar service. No thanks. We took the loss but you do not have to, go with someone else or just install your own alarm"

Hi! I'm Tyler. I've been an electrician going on 9 years now. Anything you need, I can do. Plus I'm not terrible at patching drywall if I need to get into walls. I wasn't going to start my own business, however, I can't bring myself to charge the outrageous process some of these established companies do.

Smoke Detector Installers questions, answered by experts

While adding fire sprinklers to your home, you may want to consider other fire prevention and protective measures. Get your smoke alarms and CO alarms inspected and replaced, if needed. Add fire doors to vulnerable areas of your home. Inspect or purchase fire extinguishers. For exterior protection, consider fire-smart landscaping practices .

A home security system could save you up to 20% on your home insurance policy, so the initial expense may actually even out over time. Beyond that, it’s hard to put a price on peace of mind. If you live in a high-crime area, you may want to prioritize home safety. It depends on the value of your assets and your individual preference.

Digital door locks are just one part of a whole-house security system. You can also install indoor and outdoor security cameras, door and window sensors, motion detectors, smart lighting, and smoke, fire, and CO detectors.

Remember, every home layout is different, and landscaping and custom designs can impact which security system parts offer the best protection from crime. Speak with a professional to help you decide which combination works best for your home’s security.

Leaving a light on at night probably does not deter burglars as much as we would like. While there isn’t much evidence supporting the theory that lights deter burglars, there’s not anything disproving it either. If you feel like it offers added security because a burglar thinks you’re at home, then you can set your lights to a timer so they go off and on at intervals, mimicking someone moving around inside the house at night. A better idea is to install motion sensor lights in your yard.

Yes, you can use both presence and motion detectors in your home. They serve different purposes—presence detectors are great for smart home integration, ensuring lights come on (and stay on) when you enter a room. Motion detectors excel at security, alerting you to unexpected movement. By combining them, you’ll create the best of both worlds, smart comfort and solid security.
