"Peter (Owner) is very knowledgeable in all things related to asphalt and cement repair and maintenance. He guided us through the options available to keep our roads in the best condition, both structurally and atheistically. When it came time to do the work, he communicated effectively throughout the whole project. He and his team did an excellent job and our HOA was very pleased with the quality and cost of the work performed."

"We highly recommend Denver Patio and Landscapes. They completely transformed our yard from dead weeds and dirt to a beautiful patio with bench seating and a built in fire pit. I used to dread looking out the window to the yard but now I canâ t wait to use the fire pit and spend time outside with my dog. We purchased this home a few months ago and knew we had to find the right team for this job and everyone at Denver Patio and Landscape were great to work with. Geovanny provided a very accurate estimate and his team was professional, gave us excellent recommendations to make the space even better and were great to work with."

"We love the driveway and enjoy the front porch extensions very much. The old driveway at 3" to 4" thick was removed totally and did not have any rebar in it at all. The new Legacy driveway has a lot of rebar, and is 5" or more thick all over. Thank you very much Legacy for the great quality job."

"Rafael and his crew came out Ripped out an replaced some driveway concrete panels, Which came out beautiful, Also Replaced Sod in my back yard, which looks really nice, went above and beyond, fixing my sprinkler system, works perfect now, and fixed my back faucet which was leaking in my basement, so we couldn't use it, now we can, they trimed our bushes, and did an awesome job trimming our tree in the back yard. Rafael and his crew did more than my wife and I excepted, We're so happy with the results, Very Professional ! One stop shopping, Rafael and his team did it all, from Concrete to landscaping, Tree trimming, and bushes to Sprinkle Systems. We will be using Rafael in the future for whatever comes up. "My wife and I decided we no longer wanted sod in our backyard because of the water restrictions it's really hard to maintain. Instead, we opted for stamped concrete and walkways with mulch and rock. The guys also installed a few trees along the perimeter of the house, so we're excited to see how they do in hopes for more shade by next summer. Very good communication with daniel who was also very accommodating with scheduling and flexible with pricing."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

When comparing installation costs, asphalt is often less expensive upfront than concrete. Asphalt prices typically range from $7 to $15 per square foot, while concrete can range from $3 to $18 per square foot. However, long-term costs should also be considered. Concrete driveways generally last longer (up to twice as long) and require less maintenance, which can make them more affordable over their lifespan. While asphalt has a lower installation cost and is easier to repair, it requires more frequent maintenance, such as sealing, which can add up over time. Therefore, while concrete is more expensive initially, its durability may offset the cost in the long run.

The choice between asphalt and concrete depends on your priorities, budget, and climate.

Concrete is generally more durable, lasting up to 50 years with minimal upkeep, and offers more customization options like staining and stamping, which can add more to a home's value. However, it is more expensive upfront and can be prone to cracking in cold climates where water can freeze and expand.

Asphalt is typically cheaper and quicker to install and is easier to repair. It performs better in colder climates. However, it requires more maintenance, including regular resealing, has a shorter lifespan, and can get hot and sticky in intense sunlight.

Ultimately, if durability and long-term value are key, concrete is often the better choice. If upfront cost and performance in cold weather are more important, asphalt may be preferable.

Gravel is the most economical and least expensive driveway material, costing between $1 and $3 per square foot. This is significantly cheaper than alternatives like asphalt or concrete. However, it's important to consider long-term costs, as gravel driveways require regular maintenance. You will likely need to add new gravel filling once or twice a year and regularly rake it to keep it level, which can add to the overall cost over time.

Sealing coat asphalt after 6-12 months and then every 2-3 years is recommended.

In the United States, roads are usually categorized as one of three types: public roads, other drivable roads, and non-drivable roads. These categories dictate how a road can be used; a non-drivable road might be classified that way because it is heavily damaged and unsafe for cars.
