"We contracted with High West for them to install a Temo patio cover, New Gutters and installation of Soffits. We kept us informed from the time of signing the contract to the final installs. We knew at what states, the amount of money that was due and timeframe that it would be due. During construction, all of the workers were very pleasant and hardworking and they cleaned up at the end of every work day. I would definitely recommend them to family and friends."

"Got 3 bids to replace awning material. Ron came to do measuring and provided the bid. He was knowledgeable and helpful. When I informed them we chose them for the job they scheduled replacement in two weeks and did a quality replacement in a sort time. Good value, good quality install."

Patio Covers questions, answered by experts

Metal awnings last much longer than fabric thanks to their durability and resistance to fading, sun damage, and damage from the outside elements. They also need less maintenance than fabric options. Both items add curb appeal to your home, but you shouldn't expect either type of awning to add property value to your home.

Awnings offer a number of benefits, including:

  • Reduced summer home cooling costs with lower solar heat gains

  • Protection from sun, rain, and snow damage

  • Increased curb appeal for your home

Keep in mind that awnings also have drawbacks, including the potential to reduce your view, block natural light, and create new occasional home maintenance needs.

Creating a screen room is one of the most cost-effective ways to enclose a patio so you can still use it in the winter. Most screen rooms aren’t insulated, so you’ll need to wrap up warm or use patio heaters in winter. Also, be aware they might not hold up well if you live in a location where heavy snow is common.

A covered deck can be a good investment that increases your home value—especially if you live in a hot region with a lot of sun. A covering over the deck means you can get more use out of it, even on the hottest summer days. With a permanent deck covering, you can even add ceiling fans to help cool down your deck for added comfort.

The least expensive way to enclose a porch is with screens. These protect the room by preventing insects from entering and, if you live in a warm climate, provide excellent airflow during hot summer months. Screens cost far less than any other alternative, so if you are against getting permits, spending too much, or enclosing your porch in walls or glass, screens are the best choice.
