"They have the whole customer service thing figured out. Not only is Chris in the office responsive and kind, but Eddie (our technician) was extremely professional and detailed. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. My carpets look like new and I was so excited to hear about their other services!! If you want to deal with an HONEST company that provides epic results, Premier Carpet is it. PS. Eddie came in wearing a mask and kept his distance. They are adhering to all COVID regulations."

"Job: to remove existing carpet in order to put a new thicker pad underneath, reinstall carpet, and clean the carpet once the job was completed. Honesty and integrity. I could not be happier with both Nate and Greg. They were on time, worked hard to please me, and went above and beyond -- and the final outcome is nothing short of wonderful. I would definitely recommend this company!"

"They have been great and Geno is wonderful. He is a little more expensive, but he really goes the extra mile. He will put styrofoam blocks underneath the future so it is elevated and the carpet will dry better. He takes his time and always does a great job. He will spend extra time on stains to make sure he gets them out. The cleaning also doesn’t leave a residue and stays clean longer. The cleaning system is truck mounted and has extra strength."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, carpeted stairs are generally considered safer than stairs with hard surfaces like wood, vinyl, or tile. Carpet provides more traction, which helps reduce the chances of slips and falls, and its cushioning can lessen the severity of an injury if a fall does occur. Hard surfaces often lack the friction needed for a secure tread and can be quite slippery.

However, it's worth noting that some carpets can also be slick, particularly if they are brand new, dirty, or made from certain materials. If any stair surface feels too slippery, traction treads can be added to most materials to increase grip and improve safety.

When choosing whether to install carpet in your home, consider the pros and cons of this change:

Pros

  • More affordable than laminate flooring

  • Gives the room a warmer feel

  • Softer on feet

  • Wide variety of textures and colors

  • Hides dirt easily

  • Faster and easier to install

Cons

  • Shows wear and tear more quickly than laminate flooring

  • Shows stains

  • Soaks up liquids

  • May not work well in some areas, such as a bathroom

  • Less durable than laminate flooring

  • Susceptible to water damage, mold, and mildew

No, it works best under synthetic carpets in high-traffic or moisture-prone areas. Avoid using moisture barrier padding under natural fiber carpets like wool, which need air circulation. The barrier can trap the moisture against natural fibers and cause problems. Also, you can skip it in low-risk areas like upstairs guest bedrooms, where the extra protection often isn't worth the added cost.

Carpet glue is very sticky, but it's not permanent. The glue usually lasts as long as a typical carpet installation, which is five to 15 years. For the best results, you should always use the right type of carpet glue for the area you're using it in. There are carpet glues for high-traffic areas, which are more high-quality and durable than others.

If you have a concrete subfloor, you must secure the carpet padding with adhesive or glue. However, if you have a wooden subfloor, use staples instead. Removing a glued-down carpet can be difficult and time-consuming, so it’s best to avoid glue when possible.
