"It's November in Colorado and I still have fresh strawberries! Took down my shed that was unsafe and put in a great greenhouse with the same footprint. Looks great, I can hang my bird feeders on the side and hanging plants for the summer then inside with shelves for the winter. I got all my veggies started early for spring by using the greenhouse and ended up getting a ton of food and plants. They really listened to what I needed and wanted and were able to create me something better than I could have hoped for! Definitely recommending them to others and will use them again!"

"As the name implies, Kerstan, the Owner, does a 5 star job. She's honest, kind, thorough, and meticulous. It's a blessing to have someone you can rely on for a great job. I hired her on a massive deep clean, and I'm impressed. She was prompt, upfront with her rates and service, and realistic. We managed to get the deep clean ready for an event at my house that week. The glass was so clear, people couldn't tell if it was open! Kitchen was immaculate and organized. Living room was dusted, vacuumed, couch was organized and clean from all debris even under the cushions. Bathrooms looked like they had never been used to the point of fresh towels put out, etc. Bedrooms were immaculate with clean comforters and sheets and made properly with a complete match. Last but not least she made sure that the fireplaces were cleared and wood was restocked so the client could immediately start a fire and there's so much more that I could tell you but Wow! I couldn't be happier and as you can tell highly recommend her and her crew. Also I needed some maintenance done in my kitchen and bathroom for some clogged sinks along with the bathtubs not draining properly and asked about having the driveways and decks cleared, Kerstan immediately reached out to her Husband who also was very thorough, reliable and meticulous with making sure that the snow clearing would be safe for my clients and maintenance of sinks and bathtubs were completely cleared and working properly. There was an extra fee but I have to say the rates are excellent. . I look forward to the next service! Melissa P. Home Owner"

Greenhouses and Nurseries questions, answered by experts

The quickest way you can protect plants and trees from frost is to cover them with garden blankets or frost cloths. Also, bringing potted plants or trees indoors is much simpler than trying to cover and protect them outdoors. Remember to anchor blankets with something such as sandbags, fabric pins, or rocks if the forecast calls for strong winds to keep them from blowing away and exposing your trees and plants.

Minor fixes like patching leaks or repainting are DIY-friendly, but structural repairs require professional expertise.

Eco-friendly materials include sustainably-sourced woods, recycled metals, low-VOC paints, and non-toxic sealants, which reduce environmental impact. Using these in repairs promotes sustainability and can improve indoor air quality and overall building health.

In most cases, wait three to five days to repot or relocate a plant from a greenhouse or nursery. That way, your plant has time to recover from any shock during the move and adapt to the conditions in and around your home. Some hearty plants may not need as long, and delicate plants might need several weeks. You should ask the professional at your nursery for a recommended timeline. Consider asking about an initial watering schedule to help stimulate root growth and promote a healthy plant.

Adding burnt charcoal to your garden beds and plant pots can yield several benefits, but there are risks involved, too. Charcoal, particularly biochar, can enhance soil structure, improve water drainage, and increase nutrient retention. When activated, charcoal provides key nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. However, burnt charcoal, especially from briquettes, can inadvertently alter soil's pH levels and become hazardous to plants. Overall, there are better and less risky soil amendments available, such as vermiculite, perlite, or wood chips.
