"Service Team of Professionals (STOP) of Bakersfield responded following a fire. Although there was almost no structural damage, the entire interior was badly damaged by smoke and heat. STOP performed a complete demolition down to the studs, rafters, and bare floors. They also provided coordination with asbestos testing and abatement contractors. The STOP crew left the site clean and ready for the restoration contractor who followed."

Biohazard Remediation questions, answered by experts

Use rugs in high-traffic areas, immediately clean up spills, and do regular dust mopping.

Refinishing gives appliances a refreshed look, extends their lifespan, and is more cost-effective than new purchases. It also allows personalization to match the decor.

While refinishing your appliances can make them look fresh, you may prefer to keep their original coatings as long as possible. The best way to maintain your appliances’ appearance is to keep them clean. You can do this by:

  • Wiping up messes and spills on appliances as soon as possible.

  • Avoid using harsh cleaners or abrasive cleaning tools.

  • Handling objects with care near appliances to avoid scratching or denting them.

In general, yes, it's worth repairing an appliance over replacing it. If the repair will give you more years of reliable service from the oven and the repair costs less than buying a comparable new model, then yes, get it repaired. If, on the other hand, the oven is reaching the end of its life and needs a costly repair, you're likely better off buying a new oven.

Small appliance repair costs around $150 on average, but you could pay between $50 and $400 for your repair, depending on the type of appliance, the brand, availability of the replacement parts, and the extent of the damage. Here are some average repair costs based on the type of small appliance:

  • Microwave: $250

  • Toaster: $150

  • Blender: $150

  • Food processor: $150

  • Garbage disposal: $175

  • Coffee maker: $100

  • Range hood: $200

  • Countertop ice maker: $125

  • Wine fridge: $225
