The gentleman spent quite a bit of time with me discussing the carpet and the caution that needed to be taken in cleaning it because he was not sure how stable the colors were or if it would buckle or shrink.  He said he would test to see if it in fact was wool and would try a topical cleaning approach.  If that didn't work, he'd call me to get authorization to take further measures.  The cost was to be $100.  A week later I went in to get the carpet and the same gentleman went through the issues with me.  He said they'd tried the topical method, but his feeling was it didn't improve the odor that much.  Since he'd determined that the color was NOT stable, he couldn't proceed with other cleaning for fear of ruining my carpet.  Therefore there was no charge at all and he said I would need to take it to a dry cleaner.  He explained a lot about the rug and how it was made and cautioned me about its care going forward.  It appears to be a delicate little flower!!  I didn't feel right not paying him anything for his effort and time;  so he said how about $30?  I thought that was very acceptable.  Yes, the carpet does still have odor, but it actually does seem to be quite a bit better.  My feeling is that this company is very reputable and I would definitely use them again.  I also had a strong recommendation to use Beacon from a local carpet company. As I prepared to leave I was given a bottle of carpet spot cleaner, for nothing! These people seem to be really good guys.

"The lady who came to clean our house was named Heaven—and heaven sent she is! Heaven was very thorough and methodical with her organization and cleaning methods. She came equipped with all the proper tools and agents like vacuum, detergents, cleaning rags—you name it, she got it! In the end, our kitchen, two bathrooms, living room and even our front foyer were sparkling clean. Heaven was also very courteous and professional. She was respectful of our property, and pleasant to deal with. "Joe and his partner were so professional and polite! They came to clean my 11 blinds that havenâ t been touched in years and were filthy. Joe and his partner took them all down and cleaned them in their mobile van. Once cleaned, they hung them up and made sure we were satisfied with their serviceâ and boy, were we beyond satisfied! "Scott is friendly and professional. Communication was quick. He was a few hundred dollars less than another company's quote so we hired him. The job took about a day and a half. I rated B on price because it seems like a lot for floor cleaning, but I guess that's what you pay in SoCal! The stone is absolutely clean & shiny, but it wasn't too bad to start. The dingy grout was the reason for the cleaning. Plus, some grout had become missing. Scott replaced the missing grout. However, overall the grout is not as light as when we moved in 2.5 years ago, but Scott assured us he cleaned as clean as it could be. He suspected our maid was using something oily like Pine-Sol, but I found out later they use a stone & granite cleaner, so that's not it after all. I hope the 'clean' lasts longer than a couple of years. If not, we may bite the bullet and replace with engineered wood. Our previous residence had wood and in the 5 years we lived there, it never needed this type of cleaning and always looked gorgeous!"
