"They were wonderful, flat out outstanding, as they did our projects and interacted with us. Pros, and you can not find nicer people to work for us. No wonder Jonathan is so well regarded, and his crew also. They did a great job for us and we will use them again for sure. Chuck in Clearlake, Ca. "Josh painted the cabinets in my rather large kitchen as well as my front door and shutters. Josh was very prompt, courteous and professional. Not to mention his price was the absolute best. He arrived early, but waited until the scheduled time to knock on the door. He managed his time well and completed the job a day ahead of what was originally scheduled. It was originally my job to get the paint, which I forgot to do, but Josh had no problem going to the store and ordering the paint. He was very honest, leaving me the receipts and all the extra materials. Oh did I forget to mention parts of the base boards around the cabinets were cracked, he replaced them with no problem. I Will definitely be using his services again, in fact I already have another job lined up for him.

"We love our cabinets! They look fantastic while remaining affordable. The friendly staff at AWD helped us from start to finish. They are very knowledgeable and gave us advice and tips when needed. They were receptive and patient with our ever-changing needs. Once we finalized our purchase, we received our cabinets within two weeks! The cabinets are very sturdy and the color is beautiful. The hinges and hardware are high quality. We are extremely pleased with AWD and would recommend them to any friends or family looking for good cabinets at a fair price."

Kitchen Cabinet Refacing questions, answered by experts

Costs vary by materials used, surface size, and complexity. Refacing can be cost-effective compared to full replacements, with an average range between $300 and $1,200.

Refacing costs less than replacing because it uses the existing infrastructure. However, customizations and the quality of materials can still influence the expense.

Kitchen remodeling can be as minor as a new coat of paint or as significant as a kitchen expansion to add more space. Some common things to include in a kitchen remodel include:

  • New appliances

  • Fresh flooring

  • New paint on walls or cabinets

  • Luxury countertops

  • New or custom cabinets

  • Lighting fixtures

  • New cabinet hardware

  • Changes in electrical or plumbing locations

  • New sink and faucet

Routine cleaning with light detergents, avoiding abrasives, and timely addressing chips prolong the new surface appearance.

No, in most cases, you do not have to remove your countertops to reface cabinets. Since refacing primarily involves updating the doors, drawer fronts, and exterior surfaces, your existing countertops can usually stay right where they are, making the process quicker and less disruptive. However, if your counters prevent the access needed to remove doors and drawers, they may need to be temporarily removed. It's best to consult with a professional cabinet contractor to assess your specific kitchen layout during an estimate.
