In the course of removing the old cellulose, they discovered that we had no functioning heat/air duct system, which explained why our power bills were (literally as it turned out) going through the roof. "We have a 1970's and we decided to have an energy audit by Landmark Construction. It was clear that our house have some energy issues and was in need of a any type of energy overhaul.  The report that was prepared for us by Charlie and his office staff, was comprehensive, clear to understand and revealed that the ducts at the attic  was not sized appropriately. In addition to that, the furnace/AC in the smaller unit was old (and original) and had to be replaced. The recommendations that Charlie told us, included a new furnace/AC, new tankless water system, hot water pipe insulation, building sealing, the insulation and new ducting throughout the house. This was the best investment we ever made.  I could not believe the difference in our utilities bill.  Charlie and his team were great,  professional and experienced. "Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."
