"We have been using Alex for our landscaping projects for several years now. He has done yard clean up for us, aerating and fertilizing, trimming and planting. He built a beautiful paver patio 3 years ago in our backyard and just this week, he built us a beautiful horizontal redwood fence. I sent him a picture of what I was looking for and he nailed it! He takes great pride in his work, he and his crew show up on time and they finish the job on time. He and his crew always clean up any mess and leave the yard looking better than it did. Highly recommend Alex for all of your landscaping/yard maintenance needs!"

"My pro, Trevor Carberry, is a real pro! He very professionally completed the job. I was very impressed with him. My wife was too and said, " we'll have him back again whenever we need a handyman"! I asked him for some of his cards and I will tell others about his professionalism."

"Caleb is honest, trustworthy, his work is of the highest quality. My wife and I highly recommend him. Our project was extensive it involved structural repairs as well as remodeling a living room area in to two additional bedrooms. Both baths, the kitchen. Everything new from the floor to the ceiling; painting, hardwood flooring, new lighting fixtures throughout. We could not be more pleased with Caleb and the outcome of the project. Thank you Caleb."

"I hired Dylan after purchasing a new home. He was professional and so easy to work with that I hired him for multiple jobs. He started with hanging all of my artwork, mirrors, heavy hanging plants and installing new kitchen and bathroom hardware. He gave his professional opinion about spacing and weight capacity of different hanging methods. He even incorporated my reclaimed wood while hanging my plants to tie into the ceiling joist so my 30+ pound potted plants were sufficiently secured. After that job, I hired him to fix my fence that was leaning and build a custom gate, install drip lines all around my property for my plants and replace all my existing light fixtures with a new style. All of which came out great. He is now my go-to guy for any repairs I need done. He communicates quickly and his pricing is fair. He always shows up with a smile and takes the time to really get a good idea of what you want to get done and how you want it to look. I highly recommend CalCoast Hauling and Home Services!"

Holiday Decorating questions, answered by experts

Yes, if your roof is in stable condition, you should be able to hang Christmas lights from the eaves. Hang Christmas light directly from the eaves for best results, using light clips or an alternative type of adhesive. When installing lights on your eaves, be sure to work carefully and avoid adding too much weight or pressure to them.

You should always hang the lights before the ornaments because hanging lights on top of ornaments can cause some to fall off. If a light sits directly on top of an ornament, it can cause it to heat up and possibly change its color or cause it to crack.

The length of time shouldn’t matter much if you stick with lightweight Christmas lights and similar decorations. Those shouldn’t pose risks to your stucco. You should avoid attaching anything to your stucco that could fall because it’s too heavy, which may take part of the stucco with it. Some methods, like using double-sided tape or adhesive hooks, will naturally wear out over time and lead to falling lights, so don’t expect to leave these lights up year-round.

First of all, don’t shop for bargain lights—often, you’ll end up with a faulty or broken strand, full of dead bulbs or less-than-luminous brightness. Choose quality lights that will last you many years—LED lights have been known to last as long as 100,000 hours. Second, plan ahead and purchase lights for next year’s Christmas during this year’s post-holiday sales. Finally, have a vision and a plan—if you know the measurements of your home, including any windows, doors, and outside bushes you wish to light up, you should be able to only purchase the necessary lights and not more than you need.

There aren’t many alternative methods to hanging Christmas lights on fascia without using clips. But if you don’t have fascia clips to hang your Christmas lights, you can use clothespins in a pinch. To do this, hold the strand of lights in place and clip it in place with the clothespin. Using nails or staples is never a good idea, as they can damage your fascia.
