Customers say: True professional

"It turned out nothing was wrong with my vacuum, one of the "Outlets" had been accidentally left opened, nevertheless he did all the tests and check everything until we discover what happened, he didn't want to charge me because nothing was wrong but I still paid him for his effort, disposition and excellent service. I'll use him anytime. I am very happy."

"I was extremely impressed with this company, starting with scheduling my initial appointment to having them arrive at my home for the actual work. They communicated with me early on to ask that I perform several troubleshooting tasks in hopes that I could take care of the issue without them needing to come out to my home and incurring the expense of a service call; that in and of itself was pretty impressive! We found that the troubleshooting recommendations were not correcting the problem, so they followed through with the schedule appointment on June 14th. After they determined that I had a wiring problem, they offered me several solutions to remedy the problem. I ultimately decided to go with a wireless connection thereby saving me the extra expense of repairing a wall that they would need to access to take care of the problem. I was extremely impressed with this company from start to finish and, again, would highly recommend them to anyone in need of central vacuum repair and service! Kerry P."

Install Central Vacuum questions, answered by experts

No. Only the hose or the attachments are portable in a central vacuum system. A portable vacuum is a standalone model like a stick, canister, or upright. A central vacuum system is defined by a central power unit, which is installed in one place like an AC unit, and the connected network of piping to funnel the suction.

The cost to install a central vacuum cleaner system averages about $1,600, ranging from $1,100 to $2,200, depending on the size of the system, add-on features, your home’s location, and age of the system. Accessibility to running lines and other equipment can also impact the project cost. Consult a central vacuum cleaner installation company for an accurate estimate of your installation cost.

Yes, installing a central vacuum system typically adds value to your home. The ease of use, longevity, and superior suction power of a central vacuum system can add up to $2,000 to your home’s value if you decide to sell. Potential buyers may consider the central vacuum a perk to purchasing your home.

They’ll use more electricity than the average upright vacuum, but not remarkably more. Most power units plug into a standard 120-volt outlet and don’t have significant power demands. You shouldn’t notice an increase in electricity bills. If you have any specific questions about energy costs, ask your installer as you examine purchase decisions. Larger power units will need more electricity for their suction levels.

A central vacuum system can be a worthwhile investment depending on your needs and budget. While the upfront cost is higher than a traditional vacuum cleaner, it offers significant long-term benefits. These systems can save you time and make cleaning your home easier, as you only need to carry the hose and vacuum head, eliminating the need to lug a heavy unit up and down stairs. They also tend to operate more quietly and can improve indoor air quality. The convenience and performance over many years may make it a valuable addition to your home if you can budget for the initial installation.
