Description

Opened up a woodworking shop in Myrtle Beach, S.C. in 1971. People would walk through the doors with all kinds of requests,and I always said "yes." It keeps things interesting. Nowadays, I usually work alone, sometimes with a helper or another skilled craftsman. My standards are high. I enjoy commissioned work. Realizing my clients dreams beyond what they could have imagined gives me great pleasure. I started off in a shed that grew into a 3000s.f. well equipped shop and five employees. When I moved West, I downsized to a garage, renting space and hiring employees as needed. Now, I also have portable shop and a big pickup truck. I'm willing to travel to the work. From 2005 to present, I have won 11 awards for unique tables and stools of my own design at the county and state level, culminating in winning First Prize in Woodworking at the 2008 California State Fair. The first piece was to replace an old chest of drawers that I used to put my tv on. We discussed what I wanted...;.drawers, place for dvr and receiver and size for my space. While I do love the piece, it is shorter than I wanted. However, I have accepted it. The second piece is a coffee table, once again made to my dimensions because I couldn't find a commercial piece of the size I wanted.. ...
